Your avatar image is showing this address for properties:

http:/ / http://www.male4malescorts.com/ dcforum/Images/Avatars/ http://www.aarongreycalifornia.com

(spaces added to keep the software from trying to display the image)

There is no image at that address. In fact it's an invalid address.

Modify your profile so that it points to an avatar at

http://www.aarongreycalifornia.com

but the address needs /image.jpg (or whatever) added.

You're getting the "red X" because you're pointing to an address that doesn't exist.

All you have to do is give an address to a pic that DOES exist and it'll work.

Intelligence is fleeting

Since I'm having similar problems, I'd like to ask for anyone who is VERY patient with the graphically challenged to walk me through it or point me to the Archive 'Avatars for Dummies'. I'd also like to eventually post illustrations with some hot erotica one of these days, just to give them some dimension.

My working partner Otto and I had a blast playing and taking pics at the beach last weekend, and I wanted to use one of the them to show us off a little bit. I have one in mind, but if there's one on the page that would be better than others for technical reasons, feel free to educate me. The URL:

http://www.geocities.com/otto8x6/ContrastForPleasure

Thanks in advance, private mail to BastianKing@msn.com is Ok too.

RE: Intelligence is fleeting

Bastian, dear, you SHOULD (the way most websites work) be able to post an avatar that's something like this:

http: / / http://www.geocities .com/otto8x6/photos/kiss.jpg

(spaces inserted to show the full URL instead of the picture.)

But here's what you'll get:

http://www.geocities.com/otto8x6/photos/kiss.jpg

That's because geocities.com derives ALL of their income from displaying popup advertising to visitors to your site. They disallow displaying those images unless someone is visiting your site.

Displaying an image HERE from your site on geocities.com deprives geocities.com from getting any click-through income from advertising. So they don't allow it.

Find another place to host your pictures. <shrug>
