You can't upload pictures here, and you can't copy/paste pictures into messages. BUT you can include a picture's address if it already lives on a web server out there somewhere. The board software will display the picture instead of the address. See example below.

Please don't post pics from sites that require user ID/password. We may delete those posts.

The HooBoy banner, above, has this address:

http://www.male4malescorts.com/banners/ m4mbanner062600.gif

Space inserted to force the board software to show the address. Without the space, you'd get this:

http://www.male4malescorts.com/banners/m4mbanner062600.gif

Thanks for your prompt reply to my query, deej, but....but....but I've seen lots of postings of photos without a URL on this board. Examples that come to mind are the dog pics on the Akita thread, and the great photos included with the "when is pretty too pretty "messages.

Perhaps this inability to paste is a new policy on M4M as I notice you can no longer view the pics on the Bruno Gaucho thread.

Right, you don't see a URL because the board software reaches out and grabs the picture and displays it in place of the URL.

Right-click on ANY picture in ANY thread on this board, choose Properties, and you'll see that each picture has an Address (URL) somewhere on the WWW. Including the Akitas pictures.

This is nothing new. It has always worked this way.

So, like DJ was saying, if you type in a URL for a picture, the board software automagically makes your browser display it, if the URL points to something which is actually there and accessible. Some of the more popular pictures might get temporarily or permanently disabled if too many folks view them.

Here's an example of deliberately bogus URL:

http://rdrop.com/~honcho/gusc.jpg

and here's an example of a good one (my best friend's best friend):

http://rdrop.com/~honcho/gusC.jpg

In both cases you can right click under windows and use the properties to figure out what the URL's are, or when using *nix Netscape attempt to open the image.
