As a masseur, I'm curious to know what clients expectations are when it comes to getting an erotic massage.

Do you just expect massage and a hand job or do you expect more? Mutual touching? Oral or other stuff? If you could get away with getting more, do you? Do you expect the masseur to talk to you before hand about what's included in the session or do you play it by ear..?

Yes, lots of questions, but it's good to know what people expect so as to meet the expectations.

When I'm paying a rate that's higher than a non-erotic massage would typically be, I expect a hand job and some mutual touching (ie, the masseur jacking me off and me being allowed to touch various areas of his body). I definitely do not expect oral when hiring someone who advertises as an erotic masseur, but I have been happy the few times where things progressed to that level.

Honesty in advertising is key. I have hired a few guys for erotic massages who displayed pictures of their naked asses and erections. Then at the end of the massage they insisted on me jerking myself off while they basically stood there, maybe touching my balls or chest. A couple of guys even kept their underwear on. In these cases I definitely felt like I was purposefully deceived by their advertisements. Fortunately these experiences have been relatively few in number; frequently I have received more than I would have expected from an erotic masseur and the majority of times the sessions have pretty much matched my expections.

I also noticed that if you take a look at the photos on Massagem4m.com, you'll notice so many of the guys showing their asses and everything butt their faces. To me, it's important to see the face. While I guess some folks need to be discrete about their "part-time" career and not show their face, it raises an alarm bell when looking for a masseur. :(

Being someone who routinely gets massages I can offer my perspective. I am currently trying to find a replacement for my regular who has moved away.

It is so funny how the word "erotic" is interpreted so differently from masseur to masseur. One masseur will think, "I am so hot looking if I am nude it is erotic." these are usually a rub and tug and it is done. Then you will have a massage that is as close to an escort experience as you can get.

My feeling is it should lie somewhere between the two.

For me erotic is so much more than a nude rub. It is in the attention to details.

The environment:

Lighting should be romantic. Candles, ambient soft bulbs or get creative with rope lights.

Scent, though peoples taste varies subtle fragrance can be a wonderful and memorable addition. This should be mentioned in advertising to give clients a heads up in case there are issues.

A dedicated space for the massage is best. Or at least an area condusive to relaxation. This set up should differ for a more therepuetic massage to dilineate a clear cut difference. I have had a massage or two next to shipping boxes and a vaccum in a dining room. Not terribly erotic.

Clean linens, a client should never give cleanliness a thought. Music for an erotic massage maybe vastly different than what would be used in another style. Even though it can be a little cliche I enjoy Enigma. Or a mix of intenational, a song sung in portuguese or french can be very sexy while not distracting some one with lyrics. This section may seem unnessesary to some. But if you can creative an experience that is really special the repeats will be noticeable.

The massage:

Every masseur brings something different to the table. (pardon the pun) Even if I opt to hire a masseur with erotic in the description I still expect a massage. My idea is a massage that may have more fluid gentle strokes. Those light butterfly motions just skimming the skin especially around the nape of the neck, ears, center of the back, butt crack, inner thighs, scrotum etc. Combining these techniques with a bit of your more legit style is great. The word "tantric" gets used so much even though I have found many masseurs use the word but not the techniques. Basically think to yourself what do I find sexy or erotic and do unto others. LOL. I think one of the sexiest moments that sticks out in my head was when a masseur put his head close to my ear and asked in a breathy voice if the pressure was good. Basically it showed he was concerned that I was enjoying the massage. A little gesture can go a long way.

Interaction:

I have heard of clients who are rude and don't respect boundaries. I always feel that no matter what a masseurs ad says, I should not make any assumptions as to what is appropriate. I always let things flow and will not be overly aggressive letting the masseur guide the experience. Sometimes it is just a hand job, but there are times when there has been kissing, oral, mutual masterbation or even more. I guess best thing to do is decide what your boundaries are and make sure it is clear to the client.

The same can be said, for a masseurs behavior. I have actually had an experience recently where a masseur was pushing me into more than I wanted out of the experience.

Not sure if my thoughts help, but if there are any questions that I may have not touched on feel free to ask.

AJAC. Totally agree. A MASSAGE Appointment is Definitely made with both parties understanding the "Limits" of the Masseur. A Client should not expect a "Forplay" Session. ALL of the Most accomplished and Professional Masseurs, such as Jake and Jo in NYC make this very well understood before the Appointment. :+

I put off responding to this question because I was going out of town; since ajac has now put into words much of what I feel, I'll just add a few notes.

I've always found a good massage sensual and erotic in and of itself; to finish a massage off with sexual activity seems like a natural progression. On the other hand, if I want an escort experience, I hire an escort; when I book an erotic massage, the massage is the centerpiece of the experience, not an excuse for something else.

The best erotic masseur I know (who also does "straight" massage) is deliberately vague about what the erotic part will consist of because he finds that depends very much on the chemistry of the moment. I've seen him quite a few times, and there is nothing rote or routine about his massage or his eroticism. It's different each time, but never less than fully relaxing and satisfying. I just let him set the pace and react to him; he reacts back and there's a satisfying sort of feedback established.

To me, an erotic massage doesn't consist of massage followed in a disconnected way by some sort of release. Rather, there are sensual touches integrated into the massage experience until, finally, the erotic becomes dominant. I enjoy the massage too much to spend a lot of time groping the masseur, but the freedom to touch and caress as the occasion naturally arises is key.

I agree totally with "newatthis", especially with these two statements. I would only add that one hour for such an experience is not long enough for me - it must be at least 90 minutes to two hours.

Oliver, As an erotic bodyworker/healer, I totally agree with you about one hour not being long enough when you are trying to fit in not only the therapeutic moves but also the erotic ones - to the extent that I have quit having two different fees, one for an hour and one for 1.5 hours. Now I just charge the same thing for both and warn new clients that if they need to be guranteed to be out of here in less than two hours then they had better warn me that they are in a hurry.

Totally Agree and any Professional Masseur also would AGREE 1.5 Hours is the Time Required. But 1 Hr I am sure also is quite beneficial. 1 Hr is definitely better than None. For those thinking about a "Massage Session', it definitely was a Decision I made, that I never regretted with the right "Pro" of course! :+

Well, yeah, sure, one hour is better than none. And is the most I've been able to get Maverick to buy for himself when he goes to our strictly therapeutic masseur. And I should talk, since I haven't had a massage for four weeks now, of either type. Too long, too long.

Every once in a while I do something spur of the moment (I'm not a very spontaneous kind of guy in general). The first time I saw the "best masseur" mentioned above, I impulsively asked just before we began if he could do 90 minutes rather than the hour I had contracted for. One of the best decisions I ever made.
