Hotels and action in Isatnbul

Hello all my sweet baboos! I had no idea that this site had been reincarnated! When did this happen?

 

Well, so nice to see all your smiling acronyms again... .

 

I am soon off to Istanbul, and would love advice about where to stay and what to do once the sun sets. A brief online search suggests that the unattractively monikered 'Hotel Petrol Palace' is the most gay-friendly lodging, should I find myself with the luck (or extra cash) to be hosting an overnight guest. Has anyone 'here' stayed 'there'?

 

And what about the scene- what does one do, where does one go in merry old Istanbul? Is there a cruisy area? Escorts? Street hustlers?
