I know I havent posted in a while, but wanted to give my report on Pattaya.

I spent 10 days in Pattaya and had a wonderful time.

I stayed at the Cafe Royale. Robbie, one of the owners, is an ex escort from Amsterdam and owns the place with a former client Ian. I have a lot of respect for Robbie since he has turned the place into a home for ex bar boys who wanted out of the bar scene. I don't know if any of them see clients on the side, but I got to know them and feel that Pattay might now become a once a year home away from home.

Quite frankly US escorts could learn from the professionalism of the boys in Pattaya.

The cost of one of the boys is about 1000 baht or about $25. This seems to be the same for whether you seek a "massage" or off one of the boys from a bar.

There is something for everyone, assuming you like asian. The Thai boys are beautiful.

My best experiences were with the massage boys. I would recommend a massage in the afternoon and a bar boy in the evening.

The bars are very accomodating.

Pattaya has given me pause to think about a lot of things. There is something about Thailand that you take with your heart. I did not find a boy to fall in love with as many farang do, but I was really touched by the many and varied relationships between the bar boys and the farang. The ex-pat community is very close knit and an interesting crowd.

Feel free to e-mail me if you would have any questions. Again, a trip to the Cafe Roysale will be most enjoyable.

Uh oh - another one hooked!;)

I am one of those farang who actually has a boyfriend who I met on one my trips to Thailand - he still lives there. He's in his late 20s and an absolute sweetheart. Although I am usually able to visit him twice a year for a couple of weeks at a time, it is very frustrating (hence my hiring of escorts when I am back in the States). I would never recommend going to Thailand looking for a boyfriend - the separations are killers and many barboys have multiple "boyfriends." But I have met some who are very sweet and are quite devoted to their farang boyfriends, even if they still work in bars.

I spend a lot of time in Pattaya because that is where my boyfriend and much of his family live. But I personally find Pattaya a bit honky tonk for my tastes - fun, but definitely far different from the rest of Thailand. While any gay man who goes to Thailand should definitely visit Pattaya, don't miss out on the rest of the country. The island of Phuket has a healthy gay bar scene and is a bit more upscale. Up north in the mountains there is Chiang Mai - cooler climate and gives you a much better Thai feel, although the city is growing rapidly. And Bangkok is polluted, noisy, hot as hell (where the traffic comes from), but it is also quite fun, although I can only take it in short bursts.

Remember that most gay sex found in the bars is definitely commercial, especially in Pattaya. And the guys do tend to run toward the younger end of the spectrum. (Stay away from anyone under 18 or without an ID card - the police are VERY serious about cracking down on underage sex and illegal immigrants from Laos and Myanmar.)

As for the quality of the sex, I have found that generally it is not as good as you would have with your average GOOD escort in the USA. Their youthfulness tends to have them focus on the quick "result." And a large percentage of them are definitely straight - beautiful, but many have wives and children, even if they are 20 years old. Many gay tourists go for the straight guys (many of them do make good tops), but if you want to have better overall experience I would recommend choosing a gay barboy, preferably one older than his early early 20s.

I have stayed at Le Cafe Royale as well as its Boyztown neighbor the Ambiance Hotel. Both are nice and well-located in the center of several gay gogo bars - definitely good places to stay for the first time visitor. You do pay a slight gay premium to stay at these places, but the room rate is still well below what you would pay in most cities of the world.

Glad you had a good time. It is very hard not to!

Or anywhere near as good as what you would routinely get in Brazil. I've been to Thailand a number of times mostly staying in Bangkok where my work was. I was there in January. Without sounding like I have something against sticky rice, most of the rent boyz I've had and their performance were just so-so...nothing to write home about. Maybe a few exceptions. I've tried Babylon, Chakran, Aqua and Albury and the bars in Patpong and the experience were just average or forgettable. Mind you, I fell for this young gorgeous Thai Muslim who was working at Albury. I even gave him a nice present before I left the country. But he's just not that exciting in bed...even after a few tries.

must wholeheartedly agree with verde here!! but his comment is unfair - i find it indeed a stretch for ANY other nationality to reach the brazil standard! but thailand, though a distant second, is wonderful. i plan on spending the YE holidays there. i too fell for a handsome masseur at albury - probably the same one.

re pattaya - after staying in pattaya proper, spent a week at jomtien beach - nice contrast, peaceful, and the action a stone´s throw away. would not however return to phuket for the gay scene per se - found the boys spoiled, the bar scene third rate and run down, and patong beach scene overrated & simply dirty - perhaps this has changed from 2 yrs ago but doubt it. however would stay at that complex of 5 hotels (forget the name) on phuket with excellent spas and beaches as a haven to recover from bangkok.

Many Thai men have proven to me that Thai men can be super studs in bed! From that, can I generalize that ALL Thai men are great in bed? Only if I am stupid.

One of the advantages of hiring escorts there is that you get to meet them, talk to them, see them dance, and enjoy their smiles. Then, it is pretty hard to still end up with a dud.

Whoa!! Many posters in this site have proven to me that they can be obnoxious, self-centered, grumpy or stupid. From that, can I generalize that all posters (including chartered members) are...blah.. blah...blah...?

We form our opinions and generalizations based on personal preferences and experiences. If some people were "lucky" in their sexual encounters in a particular place, then so be it, they go ahead and express their opinions. Thailand is a wonderful country and the Thai people are great (I have many Thai friends btw). I have nothing against the boyz of Thailand and in fact I'm going back to that country sometime next year not just on official business but also for some hanky-panky. And also hoping maybe I can start all over again with Musta, that's the boy at Albury's who (almost) stole my heart. Also in future, I intend to use Bangkok as the base for further sexplorations of exotic Asia, especially Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Maldives and even Russia as there are direct flights to Moscow. And I'm crazy about Thai cuisine.

what kind of logic pattern is that? no need to get unduly bent out of shape - or downright defensive. people's views are necessarily based on their own set of experiences, favorable or otherwise, which forms the basis of comparison. there's just no way around that. you'll note that nothing derogatory is said about the thais; on the contrary if you read the entirety of the posts they are not only respectful but you'll note that it has the writers coming back for more.

Thailalnd is one of my most favorite places to visit. While I was there-- I truly enjoyed the culture and the men, definitely the men.

But I must inject the following comment: Remember that EVERYONE is entitled to his opinion; that doesn't necessarily mean that WE HAVE TO AGREE, but men, let us do RESPECT! Allow for divergent views without being defensive, disparaging, or downright bitchy! We should be ABOVE those traits in spite of our being human and subject in erring!

Continue to enjoy this world and its male inhabitants!!!:-)

(I like women very much but NOT sexually!)

Here's a good example of a nuisance post.

If one has nothing to say that's RELEVANT TO THE TOPIC (note operative phrase in bold) do us a favor and keep your crappy butt out.

Posting just for the sake of sounding cute or smart is just so annoying ... and a total waste of precious time.

Glad to hear that Hooboy has appointed you to the position of resident keeper of all thing relevant. Was this a promotion?

And as for my crappy butt - such language! - crappy it ain't. I douche hourly.

Now let me get this straight. A waste of precious time? Whose precious time, yours or mine. If "mine" don't worry, it's not your concern. If "yours", then why waste more of it by replying.

And - like it or not - you WERE grumpy :-)

Have a lovely weekend.......
