I am going downunder in a few months and am looking for information. I have been there before, so I know the basics, but in particular I am looking for the names and websites for gay mags with escort ads so I can do some research in advance. Rentboy has no site for NZ, and few ads for Australia. I would appreciate any advice on sites, both virtual and tangible (eg, strip clubs, houses with boys, saunas, etc.). Will be in Wellington, Christchurch, Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

 

I will be stopping over in Hawaii and would appreciate any info for there too! Again, Rentboy has one ad only for Hawaii.

No. A fee is a fee. Tipping is not required and is a dangerous precedent to set. Remember most guys will take as much as they can, so be firm, it is your money.

I think Melbourne also has a brothel or two or at least a couple of agencies. I think there's one called Melrose Boys or something like that which always seems to have nice looking guys advertised on their site.

 

I was in Sydney about 9 years ago and spent some time in one of the houses of boys then. I was there early in the day, so there were only a few boys working, but everyone was extremely nice and the house was quite nice. Very relaxed atmosphere. Sydney at the time also had some peep shows that were interesting. Live performers. Pick up a copy of the Star Observer, Sydney's gay paper. It has ads for freelancers, agencies and the houses. However, to tidy up the Australia listing, I would take out the review for Bali Boys and put it in the Asia section. As to New Zealand, there are only three reviews. Not sure if that is enough for a separate section. Otherwise change the lead caption to Australia/New Zealand.

Thanks everyone, but my cup runnth over with prospects in OZ. NZ is at total wasteland with just a few exceptions but no one in Wellington (shucks) or Christchurch.

 

Hawaii is also looking up, but not exactly plentiful despite its beaches, and aluring atmoshpere.

I am here in Melbourne and I think I know the place you refer to. It was on Yarra Street off Toorak Road next to the South Yarra (not Toorak) station- if we are talking about the same place. I haven't seen ads for this place for a long time so I think it has gone. I know that the then owner is no longer with us. There is one male brothel in Melbourne although the guys tend to be more twinks than hunks despite the promises given to the contrary on their website http://www.the-stable.com.au They charge the same for outcalls as for incalls : AU$200 which is not much more than US$100 for an hour.

 

There has been a recent shake-up here of the local gay rags but probably the best one to get for escort ads is MCV (= Melbourne Community Voice). These guys don't charge much - about US$75 per hour!

 

Remember that the Midsumma Festival starts from mid-January and runs till early February so you should aim to be here then.

Well, I had a chance to check out The Stable while I was in Melbourne. It was OK. The club is in this odd industrial area in South Melbourne, about a 10 minute walk from the Crown Casino. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside it is quite nicely done in the brothel style.

 

I saw two boys there. The price is A$200 for an hour in the club. The first guy I saw (whose name I frankly don't even remember) was very quiet and seemed a little shy. The experience was OK, but there was no chemistry or connection.

 

The next evening I saw Andy who is about 19 or 20. Bleached blond, small and nicely defined. He is apparently a dancer in a company in the city. He was extremely friendly. Our time together was pretty basic. He was a decent kisser, but smokes a lot, so I have to admit that kissing him wasn't much of a turn on. Our timne together was also quite vanilla, but I think he would have done pretty much anything I asked him to.

 

I reviewed Justin from Delivery Boys in Sydney in a full review. The Delivery Boys club is also quite nice and the people working there seemed to be extremely friendly.
