After a couple of trips to Rio, I am planning on venturing to the northeast. For those of you who have visited the northeast, which cities do you recommend: Recife,Fortaleza, Natal, or Belem?

I love the sauna scene and sitting on the beach to watch, and possibly pick up, the nice guys. What are the guys like and the sauna scene like in the above cities?

Previously I visited Brasilia and found the city very beautiful, but I was not there to see a pretty city. The sauna scene and the guys were not hot at all, so Brasilia is not a city for me to visit again.

I know that the sauna scene in the above mentioned cities will not rival the sauna scene in Rio, but for those of you who have visited those cities, which city do you prefer? Thanks.

The sauna scene will probably be best in Recife and least interesting in Belem. That being said, all four cities are well worth visiting, and it'll be possible to have amusing adventures in all of them! There are many historic sites to visit in Recife and in neighboring Olinda (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) including magnificent baroque churches and the recently restored first synagogue in the New World. Recife offers all the amenities of a major metropolis and long stretches of Miami-style beaches in Boa Viagem. Natal is famous for its beaches and hospitality, as well as a few historic attractions. Fortaleza is another major metropolis famous for its beaches. There is relatively little of historic interest there, however -- much has been bulldozed for modern buildings and most of the city is of fairly recent construction. Belem has no beaches (although there are some reasonably close by) but it's a fascinating Amazon port, with old historic structures, a beautiful opera house, and shady green center-city streets lined with gigantic mango trees! (Watch out for falling mangos during the season!) Amazon boat trips are available, and the cuisine is unique and famous in Brazil. I hope this helps you decide where you want to visit.

Thanks Tri, as usual you have a lot of wonderful information to pass on to others. Where would this site be with you, I dread to think of the idea.

Anyway, this upcoming trip to Brazil is NOT for cultural enlightenment or entertainment, NOR for architectural or historical enligtenment or entertainment. The purpose of this trip is to go to the saunas, beaches, or any other venue to meet guys and have fun with them.

So, for those of you who have visited any of the previously listed cities, what do you think of the saunas, beaches, places to meet guys, and of the guys in general? Any preference of one city over another? OF course I would to love to visit all of them, but I plan to visit only ONE. Any information about what I am interested in is appreciated. Thanks!

Perhaps you could purchase an air Brasil Pass while in the States and travel to all of the cities noted in your thread; therefore, you could definitely compare and contrast and have loads of fun in the process.

After experiencing and meeting all of the guys in the various saunas and at the innumerable beaches-- end your journey in Rio and really finalize your blasts!!!!! :-)

I whole-heartedly agree with Trilingual. I have been to Natal and Fortalezza and would not recommend the saunas in either place, although Fortalezza has some that I didn't visit. Recife, though, has pleased many M4Mers over the years, especially Termas Boa Vista if I remember correctly. Also, many have picked up lovelies outside the sauna. Just for the record, I was just in Salvador and the only sauna with many boys was Persona which I was not impressed by. Rios Sauna which also has boys said that none were actually working there the day I called. So go to Recife and report back. SF Traveler

to me by far would be Fortaleza...I would think about retiring there.

Much better than Recife I think...Recife is cool, but for me, Fortaleza is it.

Carlo Romano booked a guest house for us before(non-gay) was a german guy that use to work for the german government (a lawyer) and travelled extensively in south america and he picked Fortaleze to retire and make a business in.

the guys are EXTREMELY humble....Tomcal, you should try here, I think u would like it better than porto alegre

I haven't been to this spa/sauna but will most likely go next autumn if I get a BrasilPass which will enable me to travel to more than two cities.

All I can say is when I was in Bahia in 2003 I had one of the best, best fucks in my life from a super, super, super gorgeous and extremely well-hung guy who apparently is no longer escorting or at the saunas; he drove a "hot" taxi. My, I'll never forget this guy.

And if Kauan is anything like him-- I'm up for another sizzzzzzzling hot time.... :9 :p :P :9

Brall, if you are looking for anything approximating Logoa or 117-type places, you will be disappointed in the northeast. Aside from the Boa Vista sauna in Recife that Tri mentioned, theses cities offer little in the way of lots of guys in a clean setting. And do not expect sheets on the vinyl-covered palets.

However, if you are not exclusively interested in the rental scene, all of those cities have amazing hot saunas where a rare, fair, norte Americano (even one who is way "over the hill" in most Yankee venues) can score some awesome action. (Some of the less antiseptic places in Belem, Natal, and Fortelaza are my favorites.)
