I see there are some real Brazil experts here. I'm going to Rio for my third time in early October. I personally don't feel that comfortable hiring escorts from the saunas, because I just feel like you don't know who you are getting or what will happen. I also like to take my escort back to my room for an overnight, especially if I like them, but definitely don't feel comfortable with a sauna boy (not to mention it's harder to do at hotels).

 

I prefer to use escort agencies. I've used Apollus (http://www.agapollus.com/index2.htm) before with mixed results.

 

A friend of mine went there 2 weeks ago and recommended Rio Male Escorts (http://www.RioMaleEscorts.com). They look they have some super hot boys - anyone know of that agency or any of the guys there? Any other recommendations?

I have been at this site for almost 4.5 years and have gone to Brasil on four occasions since that time. Next week I leave for Buenos Aires and onward to Brasil. To cut to the chase-- I have never encountered reading about the agency in question, and I've read everything amongst the pages in the archives, etc.

 

I did hire from Apollus; at the time the rate was lower than the current $100 for 90 minutes, but the agency is run quite professionally. I might hire a guy this time-- Bruno or Leandro, a cutie I met while on the boat trip sponsored by Apollus and rentboy.com in February of 2003; the boat trip was cancelled in 2004 due to rain; I don't know if one was held in 2005 or not, but it was truly one of the highlights of my trip during Carnaval of that year.

I've never had a guy from the sauna stay with me, but if you'd read much of the info in the archives about overnight guests and how you should have valuables put away safely-- you should not encounter any problem.

 

If a guy has stolen, in the past, he's been reported here as well as at the saunas. Some of these poor lads have been banned from the saunas as a result of their act. Remember if you have a guy from the sauna or from an agency, more than likely, the guy comes from a family of very limited means, or the guy is unable to get a job because of the unemployment rate or his lack of the necessary skills or education. There are various reasons associated with thievery, so just have your stuff under lock and key, and there should not be any problem!

Check out netgay.com; there are some independent escorts as well as two or three agencies listed. I will try to get with Fred; he's at one of the sites; a friend of mine saw him recently and was indeed extremely impressed and pleased.

I understand what you are saying about saunas. But I just like the ability to communicate with the escort agency in advance about what I like and finding out which guy is best for me. I'm a little shy of doing that directly in saunas and it's hard because I don't speak Porteguese. I also just feel a little safer knowing they have IDs and check things out.

 

I will probably hire a guy again from Apollus and from the new site, too. You are right, my friend said that at least one guy there seems American and he liked that because my friend doesn't speak Portugese (neither do I), and so he liked being able to communicate with an escort agency that speaks good English. After I went to the new site, I wrote the webmaster who answered immediately. He stated the rates to the tune of $95 per hr and an additonal $85 for a 2 hr extension.

I've had several overnights while staying at the Hotel Atlantico in Copacabana without any problems. I agree, there's nothing quite like waking up to a beautiful Brazilian next to you! :-)

October is an excellent time to visit Rio de janeiro and the land of the cariocas.
