The easiest way to get to Lagoa is by subway. The Bourbon Hotel is near the Praça da República – a subway stop is found there. To get to Lagoa you should then use the excellent directions included in Trilingual’s original review of the Brazilian Saunas. (There is a link to this review in the FAQ section of this forum.) Just follow the directions and you will soon be at Lagoa.

The directions to Lagoa need a slight update. Since the first review was written, a new shopping center has opened at the subway station. So here it is:

Take the metro to Santa Cruz station (on the north-south line). Praça da Republica is the nearest station to the Bourbon. You'll find the station by turning right out of the hotel's door, crossing the plaza veering towards your right (where the official-looking cream-colored building is) and heading towards Av. Ipiranga. You'll see the metro station entrance on the left, before crossing Ipiranga.

Buy your tickets. The SP and Rio metros work exactly the same way the Montreal, Mexico City and Paris metros do, with pasteboard tickets that you insert into the turnstile.

From Pça. da República take the metro eastbound (Corinthians) and change two stations later at Sé to the southbound line (Jabaquara). Get off at Santa Cruz. Look for the exits marked Pedro de Toledo. You can exit directly to the street or into the new shopping mall, which is a convenient place to kill time before the sauna gets busy by browsing, eating or seeing a movie.

From the subway/shopping mall exit look for the large, very elaborate church across the street. Walk in the direction of the church (without crossing over to the church side of the street). You'll pass a Citibank branch where you can withdraw cash for your adventures. Shortly afterwards you'll reach r. Borges Lagoa. Turn left (without crossing Borges Lagoa) and walk down the hill. Be careful on the second block, especially, of some nasty drop-offs at driveways. Keep your eyes on the ground ahead of you to avoid falling. Lagoa occupies the corner of the third block, in a collection of white buildings with blue trim. The entrance is a bit past the corner, somewhat camouflaged by cars parked in front. You'll see the security guys in front. Ring the bell for entrance.

After dark you'll want a cab, which the security guys in front will get for you. A trip back to the Bourbon will cost you about R$25 (around US$8).

Prices for the boys remain the same. R$50 plus a tip (R$20 is good) will keep them happy. They may ask for more if they cum. It's up to you if they do. R$100 is absolute tops in that case.
