CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO FIND IT?

It's on the corner of Hilário de Gouveia and Praça Serzedelo Correia, one block inland from Av. Atlântica and also one block towards the ocean from Av. Copacabana. Hilário de Gouveia is the next street towards downtown running parallel to Siqueira Campos (one of the streets on which the Hotel Atlântico is located).

 

The name of the restaurant is Corujinha, it has a yellow awning, and after about 10:30 p.m. will be full of boys and clients, with a large crowd of hangers-on leaning on the cars across the street or against the fence around the square.

 

Like the swallows returning to Capistrano, Jabba has returned and is holding court nightly at Corujinha (health permitting). He seems larger than ever and has been seen arriving in an electric cart, escorted by his usual entourage of oversized musclemen. Of course, the M4M crowd has been out in force this week, too, occupying multiple tables and entertaining hordes of hopeful escorts. . .

Who is Jabba and what's the story here?

The square that Tri mentioned is a one-block park. The north side is Av. Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, a main shopping street.

 

The restaurante/cafe faces the SE corner of the park.

 

Jabba is a huge, unpleasant looking man who arrives with a whole entourage.

Read some of TomCal's earlier posts; he went into some detail regarding Jabba (the nickname given to him by Tom and others). This affluent carioca (if I'm accurate) has, as Tri mentioned, an entourage of muscled men in his company and holds court outside of the restaurant when he's in town. He has the reputation of not treating his bois/guys/men humanely. Try to find the sagas in the archives in some many pages back! Enjoy the read! :-)

Jabba is supposed to be Spanish, not Brazilian, and at least one version has it that he's a formerly famous clothing and fragrance designer. (There have been conflicting reports on this.) He's a very overweight man in his late fifties or early sixties (I would guess) who has some serious mobility problems. The muscular entourage helps him get up stairs, into cars, stand up from his electric cart, etc. A number of the sauna guys have passed through Jabba's entourage (for the money) and the general consensus seems to be that he's not a very nice person, at least not to the "help." Jabba is wealthy and throws money around, apparently, but the M4M crowd is much more popular because, by and large, our members treat the guys decently and as friends, which is very much appreciated and reciprocated.

So money can't be Health, or at least some good appropriate and effective Medical care? NO doubt, that the very top and most expensive Doctors are behind his health and condition!

 

I will be HAPPY to relieve him of some of his burden, when I get there. There is no need for him to have to put up with all that temptation for a public appearance.

It must be very frustrating for the guys, when they would really rather be having fun!

His name is Paco, and he lives on a estate in the Canary Islands 1/2 the year. This past week he was at both 117 and at Pointe when they had shows. He got the name "Jabba" from former poster L.A.Showbiz in Aug. of 2002 when we were down there. He looks very much like the Jabba the Hut character in the Star Wars movie, when it's hot, he doesn't wear a shirt, and has rather large pendulous breasts that lay on top of his very, very large stomach! not a pretty sight when you are trying to eat! He can not walk unassisted, due to his size and other medical problems...

Isn't it possible to look at his attendents, instead?

Are the saunas off limits for his boys, when he is in residence?

 

33 years ago we joined him and a big beautiful French moviestar BBer at a bakery on the way back to the Hotel from a Prejudging. They finished off a LARGE plate of cream puffs or was it cocomush.

Apparently he has been doing it ever since, except for a brief period, when he dieted. Another one of his haunts was Venice Beach many years ago.

 

I think there are some BBers and others, who like that rotund look!

We're getting very close to revealing Jabba's real name on this site, without his permission, so I'm editing the posts a bit to eliminate that. Jabba may not be charming any longer, but he's entitled not to have his real name broadcast to the entire planet by strangers.

 

As for rotund, I think he probably goes over the top of that category these days. There's an awful lot of him, and were I him I wouldn't go shirtless. . .

 

It's possible that there are body-builders who like chubs, but from all I can tell the guys who are with Jabba here in Rio are mainly doing it for the money. His reputation for not being very nice and not treating his helpers well is pretty widely known. However, money talks in Brazil, so he always has an entourage, either of paid staff or over-built hangers-on hoping to get a share of the wealth. At least one of his regular helpers was working at Point 202 earlier this year when Jabba wasn't here. I suppose some of the others do, too.
