I was polishing off some of my Vinyl 12inchs(when it meant single size:) ) Disco records. I will shout here from the top of my lungs..I loved Disco..Always have and always will. Anyway I was wondering if we did a Top 5 of our own (Instead of the usual "I Will Survive" and Disco Inferno ..although Gloria was bumpin..Whom would we chose..

My personal faves

5) Gloria Gaynor....How High The Moon, Do it Yourself, Never can Say Goodbye (this was all on one album)

4) Grace Jones... Do or Die/ any thing by Sal Soul

3) Vicki Sue (God rest your soul) Turn The Beat..DayLight, Hold Tight

2) Cerrone Love In C minor

2a);-) Voyage Souvenirs

2b)Thelma Houston Don't Leave me...

2c) Donna and Barbra(she sang her ass off on the Emmys) Streisand and the Cat Fight Song...Enough is Enough

1) ...and here we are My favorite song..the song of all songs. I was sitting in a chair listening to a disco station out of NY..of course I was child;-) and I heard a song what would forever would connect me with the Queen of the Discos'..The MacAurthur Park Suite..I know most of you probably have not heard some of these songs but if you have give me a shout out:D so I won't feel so old. I think I was the only one who understood the words. ...." I will drink the wine while it is warm and never let them catch me lookin at the sun.." It still give me chills. Truly the greatest Disco Album..15 mins of pure pleasure.. a few years later I learned that a handjob could do the same:9

I always dreamed I'd find the perfect lover...But he turned out to be like every other man I love....Paul Jabara how did you know....

I was 14/15 years old when disco hit big time and as a kid who was desperate to get into any womens underwear or more imprtantly get them off,(this was before i figured out what really made me HOT),i thought the ultimate disco record was the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever-man i LOVED that movie-still do and thought the soundtrack was awesome-The Bee Gees-Tradegy,More than a Woman(THERE WAS :9).Yvonne Elliman-if i cant have you all classics in my book the whole album brings back memories of trying to get off with girls in Prospect Park.

I LOVE DISCO - if I had 3 wishes one would be to be able to go back to 1978 and spend a Friday or Saturday night at Studio 54 just to see what it would have been like. I have heard first hand stories but it sounds like a place that would need to be exerienced. Anyway, my songs are:

Cher-Take Me Home (the extended Remix)

Diana Ross - The Boss(Extended remix version)

Ashford and Simpson -It Seems to Hang On

Carol Douglas - Doctor's Order's

Jackie Moore-This Time Baby

Brothers Johnson - Stomp!

A Taste of Honey - Boogie Oogie Oogie

and Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (I do not know who sang that however):-) :) :D

Last Night A Deejay Saved My Life was by Indeep (or was it In Deep?)

All good choices.

I don't know that I could pick one ultimate disco song because I like so many of them. Near the top, however, have to be Dan Hartman's "Vertigo/Relight My Fire," Donna Summer's "I Feel Love," and the Disconet remix of Abba's "Lay All Your Love On Me."

Hey Kenny...Do You remember African Queens by the Richie Family..I believe before the Village People went pop They Had "San Francisco"

I remember when Chers first Disco song Take Me Home came out they hyped her as taking over Donnas' place which pissed me off..But the song is cool..

I can't believe I forgot The Boss..I have two copies of the extended remix..I can here her now...Woo woo woo woo woo woo hey hey hey ouw woo woo aha aha ...with the disco beat behind her screaming...

What does Elaine say....
