Questions about Rio saunas and escorts

I've been reading through all the postings on Rio saunas, escorts and the big M4M get together in October. It sounds like a ton of fun and I'm dying to attend, but I have a couple questions first. I've searched through old postings and have bits and pieces of answers, but I figure I'll just have to post my questions, even if they've been asked and answered before.

 

Question one: I know absolutely no Portuguese and only a very tiny bit of Spanish. Sure, common language is not necessary for hard core sex, but at least some verbal communication really enhances the experience.

 

Question two: How can I learn more about what the Brazilian sauna escorts are like physically? There's been a number of discussions about penis size, but beyond that, what's the scoop? Typical age? Mostly dark or light skinned? Are they all super muscled, or is there a range from slim and young to big and beefy?

 

I'm so close to booking my flight, but then there are these questions...

Well, the inimitable Tomcal is living proof that you don't need to speak a word of Portuguese to have a fabulous time. Of course, knowing the language will add greatly to your enjoyment of Brazil. It isn't too late to order a set of tapes or CDs to learn some basic Portuguese and become familiar with the sound of the language. Just be sure to choose a set that says BRAZILIAN Portuguese, because the difference in pronunciation between European and Brazilian Portuguese is greater than the difference between British and American English. A number of posters swear by the Pimsleur CDs; they have an introductory version that isn't expensive.

Try one of the Brazilian escort sites, like http://www.agapollus.com or http://www.netgay.com.br (on this last one, after you get to the main page scroll down on the left to Escorts and click, then browse the individual guys and agencies). Brazilians, like Americans, come in all sizes, colors, shapes, and builds, so it's highly likely you'll find someone you're attracted to at the saunas. Most of the guys working the saunas range in age from about 19 to early 30's. If you've seen some of the earlier Kristen Bjorn videos you'll already have a pretty good idea of what Brazilian escorts look like, because KB recruited many of his performers from the saunas!

In addition to Tri's suggestions, I'd look at http://www.olimpos.com.br click on "visitantes" then "accompanhantes" There are a few more things to click on but you'll figure it out. Check the post I made earlier today under Pimsleur. I would not buy less than a 16 CD set as I think it is cheaper.

 

I have just finished my sixth trip to Brazil (mostly Rio) and I am glad I spent some hours learning portugeuse. It is not necessary for the saunas but if you want to go out to dinner with a rentboy you have met in the sauna and want to spend time with him, you will probably have 10 times the fun if you invest some time in learning basic portugeuse. it will not take you more than 24 hours and will definitely pay off.

90% of the Brazilian in the saunas do not speak English and you will be somewhat restricted without any language skills. But you will be very empowered with basic skills as the boys will speak slowly and clearly so you can understand them.

I found that when the boys were aware that i was trying to learn their language that they wanted to help out and were that much friendlier. Really paid off when we went to cities other than Rio.

 

My take on the types seconds that of Tri's. i like tall, hairy, fratty types as well as blue collar studs. Sometimes Latins, and american looking blacks do it. ALL ARE WELL REPRESENTED. Average age is about 23 but some are over 30. Body builders as well as guys with a little middle thickening are available. Do not worry - you will find your type easily as long as you do not hanker for cut blond surfers.

The answer is very simple.

Go to RIO and bring along a bottle of bleach and a sissors!

Blonds aren't as common in South America as in more northern climes, but they certainly do exist and you'll see some at the saunas. You're likelier to run into blonds the farther South you travel in Brazil, because the three southern-most states (Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul) had heavy immigration from Germany, Poland and the Ukraine. But you'll find blonds elsewhere in Brazil, too. You'll also see plenty of blonds in Argentina and Chile, which also had significant immigration from the same countries.

 

"Cut" isn't something you'll see much in South America, unless you pick up someone who's Muslim or Jewish. However, Brazilians consider phimosis (the inability of the foreskin to retract completely over the head of the penis) to be disgusting and unhygienic, and guys who have that condition will have surgery to correct it. Usually that's circumcision.
