On the week of June 18-23 it's going to be the Gay Pride week in São Paulo.

 

The Gay Pride Parade in São Paulo is one of the biggest gay events in Brazil.

Hi Carlos,

 

I already e-mailed earlier today, but I was wondering if the Pride Parade is really worth going. For I could change my ticket to São Paulo, then Salvador and later Rio. What do you think? As for hotels what do you suggest? Your prices for São Paulo seem incredibly low... is that in reiais or $? What about hotels in Rio and Salvador? I'd love to stay in the gay area by the beach.

The parade in SP would definitely be worth going to. It's a relatively new phenomenon here, so it's still fresh and the participants aren't all jaded. Besides, NOBODY is capable of partying like a Brazilian, who consider anything an excuse for a party, so if you enjoy high festiveness you'll love the parade and the associated events!

 

Prices ARE very reasonable; the dollar goes a long way here and Carlo has arranged for group rates which reduce the cost to the traveler.

São Paulo Gay Pride Parade

 

This year's event in São Paulo was the grandest ever. There were over 1 MM people at the Parade. As for our event we took 48 people who stay over in the same hotel. You can all imagine what happen when you put 48 horny males in the same place...

The Hopi Hari was another big event, but most people really enjoyed the Trash Party that took place after it.

And on the day of the Parade, the most action occured in Praça da República, while Elza Soares was singing, there were thousands of men kissing, sucking and making out freely in that square.

 

It's definitely something that can't be missed... it's São Paulo's version of a Rio de Janeiro Carnival...

Just returned from SP and was there for the Gay Pride Parade. It was truly amazing and puts the parades in NYC and LA to shame. Avienda Paulista (SP's version of 6th Ave. in NYC) was mobbed with people. The music was pulsating. The crowd was electric. Brazilians really know how to celebrate. At one point, there was a rainbow flags that was at least a city block long and 4 car lanes wide with wall to wall people under it.....and incredible site. I can only imagine what Carnival must be like. It was an experience I will not soon forget.
