OK - I've heard lots of stories about great hustlers in Cuba. Anyone had any real experiences in Havana that you can share here? Where can you find guys? How much? Any danger with police? Planning a trip next year and anxious to find out.:+

I suggest you log on to the LonelyPlanet web site, click on "Thorntree", choose the branch "Cuba" (for general info) and also the "Gay and Lesbian" branch which is a gay-dedicated forum. Check the archives in the G&L branch for previous postings on Cuba/Havana before posting a query yourself. Some of the regulars there are very knowledgeable of what's going on in Castro-landia and are uptodate. I was in Havana four years ago (on official business though so not much time for hanky-panky) and since then a lot of "agua" has gone under the bridge, so to speak. I don't have the latest first-hand info. Yes do go to Cuba, it's really one hot place not to be missed, but ask/check around for tips. As you know, there's a ban on travel of US citizens to Cuba, so if you're a gringo be sure to cover your ass before taking the "illegal" trip. For example, don't let Cuban immigration stamp your passport. Travel agencies in Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, Costa Rica or Canada, where you can book flights/tours to Cuba, can assist you in acquiring a visa on a separate sheet, not on your passport. You'll find loads of "hungry" boys in Havana along the Malecon (female prostitutes more so), in the Centro, in a movie house (forgot the name)and in some clubs. Be very discreet as secret and not so-secret police are all over, and what's tolerated one day may not be the same the next day. Back when I was there I easily hooked up with a very cute bar manager who first asked if I'd like some female company. I jokingly but also seriously replied that I could use his company instead if he's up to it. He was, and that same night he came up to my hotel room and that was my first taste of Cuban cigar. He remained with me for the rest of my stay in Havana. Locals who are obviously on to some monkey business are prohibited from entering or loitering inside hotels and the guards will see to that. However, if your Cuban friend dresses/acts decently it's possible to slip past control. There are private houses that rent rooms but check if they are also gay-friendly. Oh, needless to say, be kind to your Cuban friends, a "gift" from you is expected. I read the going rate is about $twenty.

I do hope you know that you are going to a Socialist/Communist Country, where homosexuality is NOT allowed, and many gay locals have been sent to prison, tortured or forced to exile during these last 43 years....

 

So, even if you will find a lot of extremely handsome men there, mostly bisexual, hot etc, etc, be discreet, be careful and don't expect a gay "scene" like in Castro or the Village...

I seriously doubt that there are saunas in Cuba; sex is a "hot" but clandestrine (sp) activity among the hombres there.

 

I went to Cuba (legally) in the early 90s; there was much, much "eye candy" (so to speak), but I definitely did not want to get into any kind of furor with the door men at our hotel-- the former Hilton Libre which is now an office complex from what I have been told, so sex was OUT OF THE PICTURE and did NOT become part of my itinerary.

 

Women lurk outside of some hotels, but they do not get in. The same I presume goes for men, too. It frustrated me when I saw all of these "fine" men, yet I "couldn't" or didn't know how to have them.

 

If you speak Spanish-- that is a godsend; unfortunately, I don't! I wish you SAFE luck. Don't get booted out of the country for soliciting.

the place to get started is in front of the Cine Yara around 7pm-11pm, the place will have lots of guys looking at you, some will approach but all will be available. They can tell you where the party of the night (if there is one) will be and where the other late night hangout currently is (it moves because police crackdown on one location but then the guys just move to another).

the cine yara is located across from the Havana Libre hotel.

Cubans are definitely right up there with Brazilians in the "sexiest men alive" sweepstakes. Of course, they share many ethnic and cultural influences!

 

To add a picture to a posting, it must have been uploaded to a server (and not just be located on your own hard drive). It needs to be in .jpg format, and have a URL of its own. If it does, just type or paste in the full URL (it should look something like http://www.domain_name.com/photo.jpg). If you've typed the address in correctly, the photo should appear in the posting.

Oops. My sample URL was so good M4M looked for it, couldn't find a valid photo, and posted the dreaded X sign! Anyway, just be sure the URL you post includes the http://www. and ends in .jpg. If that address is valid and belongs to a photo, the image will appear in the posting.
