Have you searched the threads here? I think I remember some items on the D.R. Have a look in the Spartacus; there are apparently some bars in the old colonial zone that are marked with the magic "R" for rent, so they probably have what you're looking for, or can point you in the right local direction. The country is poor and prices are likely to be quite low. However, be discreet. It's a macho, Latin culture. Once you're within the four walls of your room, you and whomever you meet can carry on to your heart's content, but out on the street you've got to "act straight," unless, of course, you're into the screaming queen or trans-gender thing. If you go and strike gold, send in the detailed reports!
