potential Prague trip

Hi there. I wonder if there is anyone who has been to Prague who can give me some advice on planning a trip there. I am looking for some help getting started such as: which area should I stay in, any specific hotel recommendations, which bars should I visit, what are the must-see tourist attractions, etc.

 

Also, I am considering a trip to Europe involving Prague and one other city (preferably fairly close by). Any recommendations? I plan to make the whole trip about 10 days.

I've been to Prague, but when I was there I didn't meet any of the guys who would have perhaps "rocked" my world, but I can suggest to you to go to http://www.gaytailoredtours.com. The company has guys for guides as well as for companions.

 

Also, do some research in the archives here. There is information there just waiting for you to read and perhaps use!

I went to Prague last month and had a great time! there are 3 bars/clubs that I went to. Escape is the strip bar that is similiar to a straight strip club in layout, has about 15 guys working, they put on shows every 1/2 hour. But they were the most expensive going for the equivilent of $230. U.S. Club Monty and Temple bar are on the same street about 100' apart. the guys there didn't look any different than the guys at Escape but were $80. U.S. not clock watchers at all, on average stayed 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Temple bar is very small, during the day and evening when walking by it to go to the other bars or restaurants, we would pop in to see who was there, the working guys tend to do the same, so if you don't find someone or anyone there when you look in, wait an hour and check again. Club Monty is a long "cave" like bar but fun and many guys there on Friday and Saturday nights.

Was at Escape and Temple earlier this year. Recognized a few cute guys at Temple from porn movies but otherwise, the place was kinda dead. It was a weekday night and not too busy, plus the 2 cute guys I saw there had already been snatched up by some other guys and so weren't paying attention to anyone else.

 

Escape was a lot nicer but, as luck would have it, the guy I found to be the hottest actually wasn't for hire! Just worked the bar. D'oh!!! haha. Or maybe I didn't offer enough? lol. They had a good selection of guys, nonethenless, and nicer facilities IMHO.

 

Prices are pretty high. I mean, comparable to US. Prague has caught up with other popular European cities in that sense, I guess.

 

At the boy bars in Prague you get a drink ticket when you enter the bar and the waiter or bartender will write down any drink you get. You pay when you leave. Any drink a boy you're with orders also gets added to your tab. Despite the potential for abuse, I didn't experience that with this system. Actually, the boys I ended up with had their own drinks, one even had his own ticket, and didn't just load up on booze at my expense hehe. They were very respectful and nice about that. Had no problem bringing guys back to the hotel. The bar actually prefers you use one of their cabs/drivers for that (safety reasons, which I can appreciate).

 

At Escape, I also had to pay the bar to have a boy leave with me. I ended up wanting him for the entire night so I guess you're kind of compensating the bar to take a boy off the roster for the night. That, plus the boy's own fee, can make prices add up a fair bit. But the guys I met were so nice I didn't mind that. All spoke more than enough English, as well.

Is Drakes still in business? I had a great romp with Mylan Forman from Prague Buddies 2 in a private room (with shower) downstairs right in the club.

Did not go to Drakes but was told that it's still open. This was about a month ago.

Yeah, Drakes is still in business. There are shows on Friday (cage show), saturday (boy on the bar) and sunday. Many people (often czech and sometimes young czech) also go there for the backroom (it is free for people under 25)and it is sometimes hot. I like the place as different from the other places in Prague such as Escape or Temple or Monty or Alcatraz.

Prague is without any doubt one of the most beautiful cities in the world!

 

There is also a busy sauna called Babylonia.

 

I was there twice during summer time, so it was great to see naked gay men at river beach and in a public pool!

 

I have seen mostly twink boys, but I have also seen (and met..:9 ) some hot muscular hunk which is what I like.

Anyone with good recommodation for hotel in Prague? I have stayed in Villa Mansland. Liked the idea of having escorts/boys at the spot/in the bar, but it is rather far from down town. Have also visited Boudum, but also far out. Any suggestions for hotel/rooms downtown which have boys available?

Police Raids at Monty, then Temple in mid March 09

 

I was in Prag 2 wks ago. Very quiet, chilly Tuesday night. Went into Temple as only a few folks were at Monty. Temple was quiet too. A few boys and a few customers. Around 2300 hrs about 9+ police entered. It was done in a quiet, professional manner. Most were uniformed, some in bullet proof vests, some plain clothes ?in case they were to book someone? Good thing I had my passport on me. They checked IDs via some type of handheld computer. Seemingly no hassle, and no arrests. Thankfully, someone knew to turn off the gay porn at the start of the raid.

I spoke to the ?American owner after the raid ended. They hit Monty 1st. He said this is how things work in CZ, but that no one should worry. I am not accustomed to this and it took the wind out of my sails. Just be aware.

 

The day before at Babylonia Sauna, dalliance cost 50 Euro for a nice looking moderately muscular guy. Couple of yrs ago, the price was 60 E. Prob only had about 20-30 minutes for play time. The nice looking guy I chatted up with at Temple asked for 3K CzK, then 2K CzK, then 50 Euro and 500 CzK. I mentioned that in Berlin, I can often do OK for 40-60 Euro. Had it not been for being skiddish after the raid I would have availed myself of his company.

i like going to drakes, nice place and well run, if you are lucky you might even see william higgins

 

they have trust worthy rent boys, and a in house guest room you can use, a good place to start
