Not to mention that Lisbon is a delightful city to visit any time of year! Many hills, little street cars, pink pastel buildings, views, water, bridges. You could think of it as the San Francisco of Europe, although it's more accurate to call San Francisco the Lisbon of America, because Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in Europe, founded by the Phoenicians thousands of years ago! And the Portuguese people couldn't be nicer. It's not as wild a place as Brazil, but a visit to Portugal will be very rewarding. For those who know Spain but haven't visited Portugal, the landscape is similar, but the architecture is quite different, so the cities and towns don't look at all the same as their Spanish equivalents. Also, Portugal is a much older country than Spain, so the culture is quite different, too. The food and wine are very good, too, IMHO. All in all, a place to put on the "must visit someday" list if you haven't been there yet!
