Charlie,

You're right. Not too much has changed in Mandala. I was there two months ago... The sauna seems to be rustic and not very clean. There are some regulars and local arabs. Prices from 50 EUR. The staff were unfriendly. :-(

With all the due respect to all my friends in Paris and Mandala's fans

If you are not desperate simply to pay money to a stranger you might pay a visit to Le Vagabond, a bar/restaurant in the rue Therese, near the Opera. It is a favorite for younger lads looking for older companionship. The last time I was there the majority were either francophone Arab (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia) or Portugese, who for reasons unknown to me are very prominent in Parisian gay circles. Some of the lads are working, I am sure, and none would turn your money down if you offered it, but I have often ended up with a very satisfactory cashless encounter.

I disagree with the fact that Mandala Sauna is NOT clean and is managed by an UNFRIENDLY staff. Things could be better of course, but this place is worth a visit.

I like to work out there (they have a nice gym)and there are many solidly built young men (mostly arabs) training and waiting for you to get in touch with them.

Nothing to do with the best saunas in Sao Paulo or Rio, but not the worst in the world.
