Saw something that looked very promising on Craigslist...

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/ers/699102350.html

Once ad is down, this was the text:

Young White Jock - m4m - 24 (NOHO - IN and OUT

Need the boyfriend experience?

24, 5'11" , 180#, Brown hair and Blue Eyes

~Rates~ 100 per hour In My Playground and

150 per hour In YOUR Playground

Vers, but prefer topping.

D/D free

So I emailed him from work, response was fairly in-depth but included a link to his website--which I wasn't going to go to on a work computer. There was stuff about reservations and crap I figured was for DC--as I'd certainly never experienced it here in LA... I told him when I was looking for, he said he was available at that time, I told him I was on the way. Get to the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn and start trying to call the number from the email, it always rings once than straight to voicemail, very long message saying to leave my name, number, *and* required reservation number...

10 minutes of this shit and I give up, final email from him is:

"Take care. I only book safely and as I stated in my first email - reservation was required via the site."

Luckily I'd noticed another promising guy on CL who turned out to be nearby, had a fucking great time (should post about that in the Google Group shortly) but I kept thinking what the hell...

Get home and look at the site, the reservations require a credit card number, the photos are of a fairly different looking body than the one in the CL ad (and the photos once you start following the 'reservation' link are even more downhill), and on second thought the terms in the CL ad seem kinda too good to be true for an escort traveling to LA and staying at the Beverly Garland...

Further, how the fuck would an an escort survive in DC with such a byzantine and INDISCREET system? Yeah, let me give you my phone number, real name and credit card number proving my name all together so I can be Spitzer'd down the road...

Anybody think Zack could be legit? Or is this just the most sophisticated CL scam I've come across? Anybody run into something like it before?

Here's the website:

It's a SCAM pure and simple.

The verification systems is supposedly free. Yet if you Google FEVKey service, you'll find that those that tried it find unauthorized charges on their credit card bill for online porn memberships. There will be a few posts that say it's legit, but I doubt. There was one guy that created a web page called "Anatomy of A Craigslist Scam" and it dealt specifically with ads like this that seemed too good to be true and required FEVKey. Although his post dealt with female escorts.

There was one post on a Yahoo message board that has since been deleted where the guy claimed to have joined and gotten the reservation number and then been unable to contact "ZACK" again.

My advice is whenever you see the FEVKey requirement just run away as fast as you can.

BTW, Zack has been discussed 5 or 6 times in the last 6 months. Who can search the Deli for Zack or Jack Surf (the pictures on the web site belong to a former porn actor by this name.)
