I hope this link works and I want to let everyone to know to STAY AWAY!!!! He stole $500 from my house and is in partnership with John, Johnny, Joe also on rentboy in Tampa. Trevor also goes by Jake, Michael and many other names. DO NOT LET HIM IN YOUR HOME

The picture at the bottom of his Rentboy ad is that of Brett Mycles (Rob Sager) who passed away earlier this year. Does Rentboy management take any action when they're alerted to scams or stolen pics?

Someone else also said the same thing on another board about the bottom picture. The guy looked like that with buzzed hair, not sure on the muscles as he had on baggy clothes but appeared to be well built. When he and his friend ripped off two guys from NY, they complained to Rentboy and got the cold shoulder, so obvious that rentboy doesn't give a shit.

Rentboy is a advertising site, not an agency. If the used car you buy turns out to be a lemon, do you take it up with the paper that ran the classified ad for it? Could you imagine what managing that he said/ he said would be like?

Kevin, if a newspaper realizes that they are running ads for scammers and thieves, damn right they should withdraw the advertising! Rentboy wants us to belive that they are a responsible aspect of our community- witness the events they sponsor- so I think one has every right to expect that they would respond to complaints such as this.

I see that the Brett Mycles photo is no longer on Trevor's Rentboy ad. If the Rentboy management removed it, why wouldn't they just delete the entire ad, since it is obvious the pic was stolen? But, I suppose they make their money whether the advertiser is a scammer, a thief or an escort. When you consider who the most likely victims are, is it any surprise that they may tend to look the other way?

Rentboy did not remove the pic, Trevor obviously got word that he was caught using a dead man's photo and he took it down. Then replaces it with some other blurry photo that you can't quite make out his face pic. No doubt he must have freaked when informed he had stolen such a pic, at least I hope he did, karma and all that.

 

As for Rentboy not caring its pretty clear that they take a caveat emptor approach. As long as they get their $$$ from the escort ad its pretty clear they could care less if the ad is credible.

They ran an ad with the pic of Brett Mycles (Rob Sager) who's been dead almost a year. It's not as if his pics weren't well known, having been in several gay mags. You think that Rentboy doesn't monitor each and every ad to verify legal compliance? It wouldn't surprise me if Brett didn't advertise on Rentboy at one time or another. Yet, Trevor's ad is still up. If Rentboy has no procedure for dealing with this type of thing, then IMO, that makes them just as bad as the scammers and thieves.

I contacted Rentboy and of course they didn't care, they told me to send them the phone numbers of Trevor and John and they would check the ads. I told them the pics that were bogus and the next day that picture was gone. I emailed again when I heard nothing and they essentially said tough shit. Two other guys from New York also got ripped off by Trevor and John for $500 and contacted Rentboy and were told the same. Guess Rentboy is just a money #### with no scruples. Maybe a campaign to stop using Rentboy is in order. Oh,and Chase's ad is no longer up, another suspected member of the scammers.

Some will remember a long time ago. Rentboy had a "Message Board" on their Main Page. At that time some Scammer's were discussed heavily there everyday! Unfortunately at time's by some "Wack Jobs" also, so the "Creditability" was definitely in some doubt from time to time, depending on whose NAME came up!

 

A couple of the more Infamous "Gaiety Dancer's" names would pop up also! LOL

 

But for different reason's or possibly excuse's, the Scam ADS never stopped running. Of course due to the fact, I'm sure Rentboy does not want to ever stop.."Running to their Bank"! LOL ;-)

Guys you are barking up the wrong tree. It is the working guys and the advertisers who are paying Rentboy. I know the working guys whose pictures have been ripped off have complained, but little of anything is done. Now the working guy has an option to continue his advertising there or not. Yet I know the guys whose pictures are ripped off continue to advertise on their site. So if the person who is ripped off continues to give his business to them, how are we going to change anything unless we stop visitng the site and do not frequent the working guys who advertise on the site. Not a likely or desired prospect.

Rentboy NYC now has 367 Guys Listed according to their Total ADS!

 

Of course with guys like "Muscle Boy Will" whose AD pop's up like 3 or 4 times... I guess the Number of ADS is really somewhat lower..

 

BUT Unfortunately "Working Guys" taking action is probably something that would never happen. Unless of course some W/G's want to start a "Working Guy's Union"? BUT If the Rates are any calculator..Their Dues would be a Bitch! LOL
