I liked it and I like Bakula; although I think that Cpt. Janeway had a deeper, more masculine voice. The best one was the Vulcan. She (and 7 of 9) might be able to turn me straight!

I'm still hyperventilating over the nude scene with that hunky commander what's his name. It was like he was having sex with that big-breasted vulcan. I guess that was their way of enticing a new audience. They really can't resisted having women with massive tits in Spandex can they--first Diana, then 7 of 9, now this Vulcan chick. I mean that commander's hot, but why can't they have some guy with bulging pecs and nipples poking through Spandex? I should sue for sexual orientation discrimination!!

Very promising and auspicious beginning...I can't wait to see what they come up with in the coming episodes.

 

The scene where he entered the temporal chamber was very Quantum Leap-ish...the vulcan reminds me a lot of Kes - very similar features, but I do like the fact that the she (and the other Vulcans) seem to be edgy, letting a bit of emotions bubble to the surface - I guess they haven't evolved as much yet as the time of Spock.

 

Doctor = Neelix...I'm still out whether I like his character.

 

We'll see how the other characters unfold as the season progresses...but so far, me likey (as SJP aka Carrie Bradshaw would put it).

Well it certainly worked for them last night all those Trekkers/Trekkies whatever gave UPN its highest rating in a LONG time and significantly the pilot to Enterprise rated higher than the finales of both DS9 and Voyager,is the franchise back on track or will most of you be watching Law and Order next week.

Yes, but on the good side, Power Girl returned, even if briefly in JSA:OWAW, and it looks like Sand may be one of the 'family'

Watched the show last night and that slow camera pan down on the lieutenant in profile, being rubbed down (in what looked like baby oil, very hot) by the vulcan, seemed to be sporting a little wood in his tight spandex shorts???

 

So I don't know if you have any real grounds to sue ;-)

You think Sand is Family? It would be interesting but I remember when the series began people that that Dr. MidNite was gay and that Hawkgirl was a lesbian and both have turned out far from it.It does look like Power Girl will be returning to th team in December which would be nice(that is also a rumor but website postings due claim it to be her but I guess we will see) If it is her, just put her in her traditonal white outfit, not the crap she has been wearing in Birds of Prey.

Yes, I think Sand is family. The JSA artist, Steve Sadowski is and he has suggested once or twice that Sand may just be gay.

Yeah, I know about Steve Sadowski but for some reason they are not utilizing him all of the time.I do not know why. I am hoping the rumor is true about PG but I wish that they would use Black Canary more, especially since her sonic cry is back. (but the big demand is to get her back in the JLA, which would be cool as well.) I would like to see a back story where it would be revealed that the original Dr. Mid Nite and Mr Terrific were gay and possibly involved with each other. They never gave either of them established girlfriends or children and I do not think that it would be out of the realm of possibility.

I saw the rerun of the two-hour premiere. I think I could end up liking this one the best, if it lives up to its early promise. I think there's a possibility that they will encounter more real dangers, with less of an idea of what's going on, than any other crew since the original ST. If they play it right, the shows might well be full of very human characters easily recognizable as being from just around the corner from ourselves.

 

All in all, I thought it was a great beginning -- except that I was disappointed that the theme music doesn't harken back at all to any of the prior series.
