Deej, thanks for providing the link to Michael's post. I was away on travel (with my favorite escort) and missed it originally.

 

Put me down as skeptical on the results and I just have a feeling the winners may have been predetermined. Some how I don't think Price Waterhouse Coopers is tracking the ballots and keeping them locked in a vault. :+

 

I'm totally indifferent as to who wins in any of the categories. Although I am sure it's "an honor to be nominated" and the runners up will "wish the winner well" when they are announced. }(

Off to Ecuador this weekend. With side trips to the Galapagos and a day trip to Podocarpus National Park for work. Tough job this saving the environment. :-)

IMHO...Other than being another line added To Some "Working Guy's" AD to Rent me! I really don't see much sense in this at all, other than Rentboy PR....

 

Being Voted "America's Best and Probably Most Used Hole", isn't exactly the Ego Booster, I would look for! LOL

 

BUT I'm sure those attending the "Award's" in NYC, will get a Rush, by patting each other on the Butt and other places. :P

I couldn't agree more with your past post about award shows in the adult industry. I actually won a GAYVN in 2004 as well as a Grabby Award and never received a call from anyone, an award that my mother could place on the mantle back home, or even a pat on the back. I was never invited to the awards show and didn't even find out I was nominated, or won, for either award until 4 months after the acknowledgement.

 

Hell, the GAYVN directory doesn't even include me in their directory anymore, and hasn't for several years, even though I have been in the industry for over eight years.

 

After my first few films in the industry, I realized that I was just a product and being used for someone else's greater gain. I wised up to that quickly and began using them; the adult film industry is only one of many marketing tools that I "use" to promote a more lucrative career as an escort.

 

As far as the escort award acknowledgements, I recently realized that they are only following suit; using an escort to promote their own site(s). After a brief moment of disappointment, I simply decided that worrying about a lack of integrity and fairness was not worth my time.

Well, stud, next time you're in LA we'll have to arrange for a "pat on the back" -- if that's what you want to call it. }(

 

Your comments about the Grabbys surprise me. Ralph (RIP) always strove to be inclusive. He was thrilled with how many of the stars showed up every year since they started doing live awards shows. Although, to be honest, over the last couple of years his involvement diminished considerably.

 

But yes, you can usually read the noms for any awards and pick out the winners in advance. This one will win best director because they have to give best picture to that one, ChiChi will win SOMETHING or he won't show up, etc.

 

It's always predictable and transparent.
