How high are the risks?

In one of the conference threads, I read about the pros and cons of using escort agencies as opposed to hiring directly. One of the issues was that agencies sometimes get busted by the police and clients end up getting arrested, embarrassed or otherwise hassled as a result. Does anyone know of specific instances where this has happened, and if it should be a real worry for clients who turn to escort agencies? I'm new to the world of hiring escorts, but I'm not quite ready to get my name published in a newspaper because I hired an escort.

i know of one instance where it happened in my city and the police just downloaded all the computer records for a list of all the johns and what they liked to do, who they hired, how often, etc. i did not see and follow up stories to know what they did with the names.

There was an agency in Houston that was raided by the cops. The cops set up shop and continued to answer the phone and set up appointments as if it was business as usual. The clients were arrested when they showed up for their dates. At least one client lost his job as a result of getting arrested.

I do nopt know if there are any risks in going thru an agemcy in the respoect that you are talking about. I myself have only gone straight to escort himself because in my area there are no agencies to go thru. (Trust me, if I did live in San Diego, I would be a very frequent customer of Man to Man escorts though) The advantage of going directly to the escort however is that they get all that they are being paid and do not have to give a cut to the middle man (other than Uncle Sam if they are reporting taxes.)

All other things being equal, I would rather use a escort directly. Having recently discovered this site, I prefer to read the reviews and make up my mind as to who would be a good pontential match for me. Using a agency brings a third party into things and mis-understandings have a better chance of occuring.

 

Depending on your location, many times a agency may be the only viable option if you want something immediately. I would caution if you do use a agency, be EXTREMELY clear on the phone with the screener about exactly what you want. Follow up that by talking to the escort on the phone too, and also be very clear about what you want.

 

I used a agency last month at my hotel, and ws quite surprised at one of their requests. The screener told me that when the escort arrived, I would need to show him my out of state drivers license along with a plane ticket before we would get down to "business". I realize that sort of thing is commonplace in the straight agencies who specialize with girls, but I had never had that request from a gay agency before. Needless to say I did not use that agency, as I do value my privacy.
