I get a call this morning from fellow escort who is to remain nameless up in LA and has quite a dilemma. It was a slow weekend and had a client on tuesday and a few regulars booked for thurs, friday sat, and sunday. Well come thursday morning, rolling out of bed he happens upon some tell tale signs of one of those wonderful gifts that keep on giving. Immediately heading to the clinic getting med ect to take care of his end as well as cancelling all appointments for 7 days

Now for the question:

1. Does he tell the client he might have been exposed to this, and keep it pointing to he might have had it before the client.

2: Tell the client that the escort had contracted this through him.

3: Dont tell him at all and just count it a loss and move on.

Keep in mind, Loss equals close to twenty five hundred dollars.

I think he should tell the client. Is he for sure that he contracted this from that particular client? Regardless, tell the

client the truth and keep it simple. I would say, "I may have

contracted this from you or I may exposed you to it and I just

wanted to let you know so you can be on the lookout for the symptoms. When people don't inform their partners, that's how

STDs continue to spread. The client should respect the escort's

honesty.

Well the verdict is in, my buddy told the client and the client was very appologetic, didnt accuse the escort and everyone is at piece, BRAVO to the clients that understand. Client had discovered the issue as well and knows where he got it from. Everyone is treated and made whole.

Glad things worked out for everyone. But, here's a follow-up question.

I've been lucky enough to never have an STD. How long is it from time of exposure to when symptoms start showing? (I know with HIV it can be 6+ MONTHS.) I assume the period is shorter with other STDs.

Well SYMPTOMS for HIV can be quite different than getting a POZ result back on a test. I have been told by many experts that it is now down to 3 months for testing for HIV since your last encounter. Symptoms can take years to develop. I am sure there are some people who would disagree with that though. Don't kill the messenger.

And Bravo to the escort who informed the client about his "drip"...I assume that's what it was. But I gather it is a hazard of the business? And to all people who throw out the tired cliche' of "use a comdom" - a condom, as someone stated, does NOT prevent everything....its SAFER sex....not 100% guaranteed safe sex....safe sex is no sex...and if you wanna be completely sure not to get an STD - then abstain...otherwise the risk is there...I for one refuse to become celibate....but always try to play SAFER!

Just my two pennies.

Well said. As I client, I once cancelled an appointment with an escort because I thought I had scabies. (I'd never had them before and self-diagnosed.)

Turns out that all I had was an allergy to a particular detergent. Better to be honest, though.

Clue Number 1: Woke up 3 days later and discovered signs.

Clue Number 2: Went to the clinic to get meds

Clue Number 3: Cancelled All Appointments for 7 days.

Clue Number 4: It was a gift that keeps on giving.
