Ah how I miss those journeys through the time/space continuum with Dr. Who in the TARTIS.

I don't want to get involved in any mudslinging here, but I would NOT recommend using any drug and then getting in the car for a "relaxing" drive. If you want to use something, please don't operate heavy machinery at fast speeds.

Just my two cents.

Well, I certainly apologize to Sean for bringing him into something that he was apparently not involved in. ALways nice to know though that he's lurking about and apparently still reads this message board voraciously!{/font]

Judge Judy is probably off giving lessons in etiquette to Anne Robinson.

for trivia's sake

>>i'll bite. who is ann robinson?<<

There's an Anne Robinson who hosts the television show, "The Weakest Link", as BoN subtley hints at. Another, more notable Anne Robinson was Shelley Winters' stunt double in the film "Frenchie". She later came to fame as the female lead in George Pals' film version of "War of the Worlds".

JC: Besides being a ravishingly attractive escort, who would have thought you were such a film buff. Here's an easy one for you: Besides "The Poseidon Adventure," which other films feature Ms. Winters in watery locations?

Hey Wet, thanks for the compliments. However, I think I'm more of a film slut than a film buff.

Well, the film that leaps to mind is an Italian produced piece of tripe called "Tentacoli" (1977, released in the US as "Tentacles") about a giant rampaging octopus. Henry Fonda must also have been down on his luck that year because he too graces the screen in this dog as the evil corporate developer. The great John Huston, along with Bo Hopkins and Claude Akins are also featured. The mind boggles.

Aside from "Tentacoli", other watery films might include "South Sea Sinner" (1949) and "The Raging Tide" (1951). She had an uncredited bit part in "Two Man Submarine" (1944) and another in "Sailors Holiday" the same year. The only other semi-watery picture I can think of is "Red River", a western featuring few watery locales, but it does have Montgomery Clift, so it's well worth the viewing. Speaking of Monty, I think he drowns Shelley in a lake in the American tragedy, "A Place in the Sun". Another wet end for a swell performer who never managed to become a wash up in Hollywood.

How'd I do Dream? I've probably forgotten her wettest role. Do tell.

Not bad Mr. C. But you should go out a pick up "Night of the Hunter" at your video store (the only movie directed by Charles Laughton). Robert Mitchum offs Shelly and there is an unforgettable image of her tied to an old car at the bottom of the Mississippi. And I'm not sure, but I seem to recall her getting killed in the shower in the first (and best) version of Lolita. Thanks for the octopus tip; love cheap sifis.

Mitchum is awesome. What is he, a preacher in that? Love and Hate tatooed across the knuckles of his hands. Strummer knew.

Didn't even consider that film. I always thought it was Angela Lansbury at the bottom of the river. It's been awhile.

Haven't seen it, but meeting wet ends seems to be her specialty.

Me too. Check out anything with John Agar in it (aka Mr. Shirley Temple.) Anything sci-fi that is. He's a scream. Avoid anything with Cameron Mitchell.
