Jury Decision in Orlando

Last Sunday, at the beginning of the "newest reviews" section, we learned that a jury in Orlando decided not to convict Vicky Gallas on charges that her escort service was really a front for prostitution.

Good for the jury. However, I wonder if this decision could mean that local and state authorities might now be more interested in going after individiual escorts and their clients, that is to say, if you can't get the agency, go for the escorts and set them and their clients up for arrest and trial. Afterall, one of the state agents involved in the case said he thought all "escort services were fronts for prostitution."

What do you think? Should clients avoid Orlando for the time being? Should escorts be especially careful and maybe even stop escorting for now?

I think one should not worry too much. The government is busy looking for terrorists and trying to make our cities safer. The least we can do is support them in that effort and encourage them not to worry about what we do with our dicks.

I doubt it. The fact that one jury bought the "money is for time only" defense doesn't mean the next jury will. It all depends on the skill of the prosecutor, the skill of the defense attorney and how good a witness the agency owner makes.

Well, they are, aren't they?

I have seen several posts from you asking about the risk of getting prosecuted for hiring prostitutes in Orlando. You need to realize that there is no one here, lawyer or layman, who can quantify the risk accurately for you. The only people who know how the Orange County State Attorney's Office feels about prosecuting such cases are the people who work there, and they're not posting here. Of course, that doesn't stop other people here from putting in their two cents, even though they don't know what the fuck they're talking about. The best advice anyone can give you is that there is always a risk of arrest when you hire a hooker in Orlando or elsewhere, and if you don't want to deal with that risk just don't do it. Sorry if that isn't what you wanted to hear, but that's reality. No matter how many times you ask the same question, that's the only accurate answer anyone can give you.
