Yes, yes, we all know that this is not a level playing field. However, there is a point where this argument becomes sophistry. Escorts make a conscious decision to put themselves in the public eye. I would never do it and I give them enough credit for understanding the implications of doing so themselves.

 

Everyone with an IQ larger than their shoe size understands that there are drawbacks to being in the public eye. Not everyone is going to like you. Not everyone is going to say nice things about you. It goes with the territory.

 

You cannot control the snowball effect of putting yourself up for public consumption. Just as I cannot control the reactions and responses I get when I choose to post something I know may be controversial. Right now there are undoubtedly people out there saying, “That phage is a real asshole.” I may not have my picture and phone number available, but ‘phage’ is just as real a name as ‘Rick Munroe’ and I am emotionally invested in it. However, I accept the fact that I cannot control how others react or what they might say.

More escorts should come to this realization. If they are able to increase their business through their adroit use of this board - good for them. But as you so rightly point out - it isn't the primary purpose of the board.

Good on you - I agree with what you are saying. There are too many gays who go around looking for things to yell HOMOPHOBIC about. Not all that different from the Blacks who feel all whites are their enemy. And lest we forget, remember when we had the pleasure of listening to Ethan accuse everyone of being anti-semetic if they even obliquly referred to the word Jew?
