Often times, when a bad review is published, we get responses that range from the dramatic to the obscene. Today's response from Aaron was quite breath of fresh air:

Aaron Responds 5/9/2002

Hi, and just read this recent review. For the sake of being short and honest, I can truly say that the client is right. I have no defense, or will I try to put up a smoke screen and deny what he's said.

For some reason, it just didn't go right. The client was a very nice guy and all I can say to him is, "I'M SORRY"and I will more than go out of my way to make it up to him if he'll give me that chance.

I've had a lot of backlash from my agency and a couple clients about this recent review. I promise, I will try to do better and ask for your understanding

No excuses, no client bashing, no lies. He accepts responsibility and apologizes. I like that. (Chad Donovan, take note!)

Not sure what the air is like where you live ;-) What else could he say? After all this was his second bad review, both reviewers had like issues with him.

It is apparent that Aaron is in the wrong business. Being cute is not enough to make one an escort.

"It is apparent that Aaron is in the wrong business. Being cute is not enough to make one an escort."

EXACTLY. While he was honest enough to acknowledge the truthfullness of the review, he should have responded that way the first time and avoided a second bad review. Honesty alone does not make a good escort. If he is to continue in this profession, he should make an honest effort to satisfy his clients and comply with the agreement entered into. If he can't do that, then he should exit.

I guess that I agree and disagree with posts 1 & 3.

I've actually met with Aaron recently but didn't post a review for a number of reasons -- mainly because it was a mixed experience (he was neither so good or so bad as to require a review from me, or at least that was my thinking).

I think that you need to judge an escort in the context of who he is -- something you can garner from reading reviews, through talking to him on the phone, and by applying some common sense. Not all of these guys have made a "career" out of escorting (and I actually feel sorry for most of those who do), and in Aaron's case, this activity just helps pay the bills while he trys to pursue his real interest -- music, and I think that is clear by the previous reviews. He's also not greatly experienced at being an escort (he wasn't doing it in Miami very long before recently moving to LA), and his youth adds its own variables to the equation. In the end, and IMHO, Aaron is a very nice, extremely hot, young guy who is still learning how to be a good escort -- and he does have a lot to learn (always being on time for appointments, focusing more of his attention/interest on the client, not rushing the process, etc.). From what I experienced, if he is given a little more time, I think that he will be an exceptional escort, at least for those who like (and understand) twinks. I don't mean this as an apology for him -- I want the perfect escort for my money just as much as the next guy. Just a bit of perspective, maybe.

I have been on the receiving end of two escort responses. Both escorts were reviewed by me, from Premier, an agency out of Philly.

The first one was full of lies and venom - and the escort did not last much longer after that. I don't believe he wrote that response any more than the man on the moon.

The second one was more recent - from Adam - who basically said that my review and two other negative reviews were right on. He admitted he was not a great escort and was "learning." It was a well-tempered response to 3 bad reviews.

By problem is - should these guys have the "courtesy" to make it up to us? I mean, it was not like I spent 15 bucks and got a bad meal - I spent 150 bucks and got a bad escort. I understand the need to "learn" - but why does it have to cost ME? Why do I have to spend 150 bucks to be the escort's training wheels?

Many of us have had bad experiences - and many escort responses always give their version and it is always quite different than the client's - but what about when the escort comes on and says "yeah - I was having a bad day and did not perform and basically ripped off John Doe for 150, 175, 200 bucks" - whatever it may be.

I say he owes the client a "freebie." Instead we praise him for coming on here and admitting his wrondgoing. That is fine and well - words are cheap - I think escorts who do this should make good on the money we spent the first time around.

Well, some are flakier than others, but still, all of it just sounds like that age group. I liked his response also, made me think he was at heart a "nice guy".

Funny, in Hoo's email section within the last two weeks, I thought this was the guy he was complaining about not calling him back or showing up.

I thought this was one of the better responses I've seen. It was refreshing for an escort to make no excuses and offer to make it right.

If I were the client, I don't think I take him up on the offer. I doubt any escort could be so fantastic to fully "undo" the original experience.

I give a lot of credit to the reviewer. His review was to-the-point, objective, and not overly emotional. Plus, he had a track record of credible reviews with other well-repected escorts. Those are the kind of reviews I really appreciate.

I agree. If an escort can't deliver, he should either offer the client a deep discount or offer a free encounter when he feels up to it. If I were to hire a painter, plumber, or whatever, and he didn't to the job right, I would expect him to come back and make it right at no additional charge.

[:*]Do you buy your shoes at Payless and complain about the poor quality of the shoe? Dammit, "you live in the nicest house in Brentwood, and you treat the dresses I buy you LIKE COMMON DISHRAGS! TINA, get out of that bed!"

[:*] "You're nothing but a rotten, crooked" client. This poor boy is trying to make restitution, and all you can do is whine about quality control. In your line of work, have you ever had a bad day? Ever felt that maybe the quality of what you were doing was sub-par? If you continue with these senseless tirades, I'll have to ask Tina to "get me the AXE!"

I am not sure what you mean, Joan - have you been drinking again?

I have had many bad days, Joan - but then again I don't charge my students $150 bucks and hour to teach them. If I teach them something and many don't get it - I do re-teach them.

Seemed like you had plenty of bad days, too, and that is why Louis B. Mayer (sp?) canned your ass.

You always were a real cunt, Joan.

[:*]"I can see being away at school has simply made you MORE REBELLIOUS!" Are you admitting (parenthetically)that you are an incompetent instructor guilty of scuttling through the back alleys of underachievement? You can't compare your work as a teacher (which I seriously do respect highly) with the services of an escort. The dynamics are not equable. If you find yourself in a position where you are frequently disappointed, perhaps there is something wrong with the way in which you are interviewing the escorts. Remember:"Tina, nobody ever said life was fair."
