I read with interest today's review of Will at this relatively new agency in DC called Bois R Us. Their email is BoisRuss@aol.com They are apparently based down in the Hampton Roads area but bring several guys up to work in DC on weekends and may have a group of guys up here full time.

 

That review coupled with my own experience with them last fall prompts me to post this. I was wondering when I would start seeing reviews popping up here. Last fall I met a kid called Brandon through this agency. He's beautiful, my type anyway, very boyish, 18, thin and toned. He claimed to be a surfer, and it's likely that he is. Anyway, when I was arranging the appointment I let the person I was chatting with know exactly what I was looking for; kissing, cuddling, oral, and I like to top if the chemistry is right. I was assured this was no problem. I met Brandon at the motel they were staying in (in a sketchy part of town) around noon. Unfortunately he must have just gotten up because he really needed a shower and a toothbrush, but I went ahead with the appointment. He got hard fast and didn't seem to mind kissing but his morning breath was a bit of a turnoff. He also told me that he did not bottom. Once we laid down on the bed his mission seemed to be to get me off as fast as possible with a hand job. I sucked him but he refused to suck me because he "isn't really into sucking". It was fun to play with his body and everything but he got me off as quick as he could and started getting dressed. Then he proceeded to tell me some sob story about how they needed money to get their car fixed and that they accept tips...after I paid him the fee upfront. It was a pretty mixed experience, but I definitely felt like I was getting hustled. That coupled with today's review of another of this group's escorts makes me very wary. I think everyone should exercise a lot of caution with this agency.

I must say that I am not surprised at all when I read on this message board how unsatisfactory some of the agencies are - especially in the DC area. When you really think about it, it makes sense. An escort working for an agency doesn't feel the need to "go that extra mile" to satisfy a client becuase it really isn't their client or their business that will be affected if they don't live up to what is promised. Usually, if the client is dissatisfied with the service provided, they either don't say anything and chalk it up to that particular escort not being very good, or they may think that they were not clear enough in their description to the person answering the phone at the agency of what kind of an experience they were looking for. Many clients call the agency again looking for another escort who can fulfill their requests. Meanwhile, the original poorly performing escort, if they are well liked by the person running the agency, will be sent out on numerous other calls despite their poor performance.

 

Of course, there are a few very good escorts who work, or have worked, for agancies. This is why the agency can stay in business (or at least why some of them can stay in business, since many eventually fail). Most agencies have a huge turnover of working boys. Most don't last more than 3-6 months. If an escort actually cares about pleasing his client and even sees the same client a few times, it becomes more and more difficult for both the escort and the client to accept the fact that about 30%-50% of the fee is going to some third party (the owner of the agency) who had absolutely nothing to do with their work/enjoyment. Therefore, most good escorts eventually start to see some of their regular clients on their own time so that they can pocket all of the money.

 

This makes perfect sense from both the escort's and the client's perspectives. The escort rightly feels that he should be paid all of the money since he is the one doing all of the work. If the client is a repeat client, then the escort must be doing a good job to earn the client's repeat business - not the agency. Also, if the client was very pleased with the esperience, then he probably wants the escort to receive a bit more money instead of only $100-120 out of the $170-200 per hour that the call actaully costs (at least here in DC). Many people who have posted on this message board have noted that they often tip an escort working for an agency because they realize this situation and want to give the escort a few more bucks. Well, many clients don't have the $250-300 to hand out to the escort just so he can earn what he would have if the call was condected independently.

 

So, my point is this: If you have found an escort through an agency you like, go ahead and contact him independently of the agency and set the appointment up on your own. All agencies know this happens, and some even openly permit their escorts to do so. Furthermore, if you haven't found anyone through an agency that you particularly liked, or if you haven't even tried an agency yet, I would suggest that you read the reviews posted on this site and make your own determination without checking the local agencies at all. Most good escorts tend to leave agencies quite quickly as soon as they figure out that they can do a much better job on their own by actually making each call a priority and treating thier clients with the respect that they deserve.

 

You may ask how I know all of this? Well.... I too, once worked for one of DC's local agencies and now work independently. The one I worked for changed ownership an has since gone out of business. Too bad.

 

So, if you find yourself in the DC area and are looking for a great experience, look no further! I will be more than happy to make your stay a very pleasant one!

I understand your point, but frankly I have had some very good luck with some agencies (and not so good luck with others). But just because a guy works for an agency doesn't necessarily mean he's a bad escort, he might just be new or a part-timer. I have had some incredibly great times with agency boys, in fact most of the best escort experiences I have had were with agency guys.

 

There are plenty of independents out there who are also bad escorts, hustlers, and rip-off artists. I don't think you can generalize one way or the other.

From the escort's perspective, I can see a lot of +s for working through an agency. If you are the disorganized type, or don't like dealing with self-promotion, returning phone calls, spending hours on your lap top dealing with emails etc., then the agency would be the answer. They do all the dull work - you just have to get the address, show up on time, and then do what you do best!

My experiences with DC agencies has been similar to those of fedosscr1. Tops 69 has worked the best for me, although their proprietary AVS to see photos of the escorts is maddening. But they have a reasonable $200 for 90 minutes rate and the escorts I have hired from there have been very professional and two have been outright stars. The occasional wrong note has usually come down to a matter of chemistry rather than anything wrong with the escort or his professionalism.

 

I appreciate the warning on Bois R Us. It definitely sounds like an agency to pass up.

Glad to hear you had a positive experience. It's possible that he was very new to escorting when I met him back in October, so perhaps he's gotten more adventurous.

I have to agree that of the agencys in DC Tops has been the best in my experience. Also, when hiring the independant escort I have had better luck with some than with others. Its the luck of the draw in both cases. Chemistry is what it comes down to in the end as we all know.

 

However, let's say an appointment goes bad for one reason or another. It would appear that one would have more recourse through an agency than an independent escort. Fortunately, I have only had this happen once and it was through an agency. I let the agency know I was less than pleased with the escort and the situation was resolved. A good agency is going to take care of its clients.

 

I have also had a bad experience with non agency escorts. There was little I could do to sovle the the situation other than chalking it up to lessons learned. In both instances the guys did not live up to what they advertised.

 

For the record these instances happened before I learned of the existance of HooBoy's wonderful site. If such were to happen today, I would most certainly post a review and let the chips fall where they may.

Here in Los Angeles I managed to avoid most of the agencies, just didn't see a reason to use them.

 

BUT - years ago, after trying for over 6 months to contaxt Richie Fine via an ad he was running in the local gay rag - I gave up. Richie never returned one of my phone calls. Fast forward to a few months later, I see Richie advertised at one of L.A.'s escort agencies. I call the agency, and that very night had 2 hours of some of my hottest fun ever, with Richie!

 

Richie was a guy who needed to be "managed" by an agency. He wouldn't work all that hard getting clients on his own, but when the agency got involved, he was cool to let them take the calls, tell him where to go, and he would run back by the agency owner's house on the way home and deliver the percentage of the fee that he owed.

 

It works for some guys - and sometimes an agency is the only way to get with someone you want.
