Coverboy Votes

Does anyone else here find the voting for the Coverboys, a cool addition to the site, a bit odd nevertheless? The fact that there's over twice the number of votes for the person at the top than the second highest, rather than a more even spread as between the other 27 contenders; not to mention some really strange choices--granted there are all types--but Papi in the top part? I've seen him in person, he's really out of shape (and smelled).

 

Can people vote more than once? Like the concept -- just a bit suspicious.

One, You can satisfy yourself much easier than anyone else can convince you. Simply try to vote a second time.

Two, I imagine that most people are voting on the basis of the picture only, or perhaps on the basis of a fond memory of the positive review (remember, they have to have a positive review and a face shot to become cover man), rather than on any personal experience with the escort. How on earth could his smell or lack of it influence the majority of the voters?

What does 'seen him in person' mean? You hired him (and if so did you review him)? Somebody introduced you to him? Or you were at the Folsom St. Fair, Safeway, or wherever and saw somebody you're pretty sure was him?

 

And how long ago was this? In other words, when you saw him, could he have been in a "bulking up" phase -- he looks really buffed from his pics -- and now he's dieted down and ripped?

 

Sorry to sound like I'm grilling you, but "hit-and-run" dumps on an escort's reputation just aren't cool. If you're accusing him of misrepresentation, you should be willing to flesh out and support that charge, not bury it in a rhetorical question about whether people can vote twice.

I think this is a fair comment to make. I doubt there was any ill intent -- just little consideration for the potential damaging impact. Hopefull the comment will be fleshed out a little more.

i voted strictly on looks (shouldn't that be the basic & most important criteria for a cover boy?). I voted yea for Trey!

I love the Coverboy votes, and I loved the picture to Trey from Salt Lake. What a hunk! Keep having candidates like him.

Your points are well-taken. The guy at the top of the votes is hot. It's just very strange that he's got more than twice the next person's vote, while the other 27 coverboys have accumulated votes across a reasonable consistent spread. It's possible, but seems statistically unlikely. As for Papi, saw him in person about 8-9 months ago at a restaurant, briefly spoke with him as I was introduced by an acquaintance; good point that most voters wouldn't know (though even his pic, compared to some of the beauties on the list, isn't all that--but that's just a personal opinion, which is what this all about, I guess). As far as "hit-and-run," no ill-intent meant, but he did smell, looked bad--may be a great guy, but these are just the facts. Not much else needed to be said here.

 

Just wondering, votes aren't updated right after the vote is made; it appears updated later. How does the system know whether a person voted before, especially since it doesn't require membername login? That's why I thought it's conceivable you can vote more than once.

Now that I look at it again, that quality may be the blond "beach boy" image it conveys. There are definitely some other guys in February's line up that also look good to me, but Trey's picture is the most compelling.
