Posting this in a forum about television and streaming services seems to diminish the man in a way that he doesn't deserve but that in a way is entirely appropriate given that the work for which he is most famous found its place almost entirely in that medium.

David Attenborough is the second of three brothers, all of whom had significant careers, he and his older brother, Richard, the Baron Attenborough, achieving public fame.

Today, 8 May, is his one hundredth birthday, one which he had planned to celebrate quietly but about which, he said, others had different ideas. The 'different ideas' are a fitting way to celebrate his 100 years of Life on Earth.

Sally Sara had a beautiful interview on ABC Radio National Breakfast with Mike Gunton, the Creative Director of the BBC Natural History Unit, with whom he had worked for decades.

A cute re-imagination of the tradition from my younger years when people would receive a telegram from the Queen on their hundredth birthday.

The man is a true legend.  He has become the voice of nature.

A telegram from the Queen…would be acceptable if it informed you that you have done your part and from now on HM government will no longer collect any taxes from you. Give them something to live for!! 😉
