She'll play Connie Francis in the B'way musical starting April 1.

The role marks a return to Broadway for The Pitt star, who made her debut in Hadestown in March 2024. She begins her limited run starting April 1, opposite Matthew Morrison as the crooner Bobby Darrin, and will later play opposite Jeremy Jordan, when he takes over April 21. 

In addition to her role as Dr. Trinity Santos on The Pitt, Briones has often appeared on stage, including in the Hamilton national tour and East West Players’ Next to Normal. Briones said she was drawn to play Francis, a famed 1950s and ‘60s ballad singer, because it allows her to imitate the vocal style of that era. It also balances well with the more serious content of The Pitt.

Most of the women from the Pitt went to see the show the other day to support her. My sister and brother-in-law are seeing it tonight.

She's a fabulous Connie Francis. Jeremy Jordan is turning out to be an almost perfect Bobby Darin. Some might say he's better cast than Jonathan Groff was. This is a show with amazing energy, and there is not a bad seat in the entire house.

So Isa Briones is leaving Just In Time earlier than originally planned on May 29th.  Because The Pitt is going back to film on June 1st with the intent of getting the new season out in time for Thanksgiving 2026, rather than January 2027.

Heated Rivalry was originally scheduled for spring 2026 but when they saw how good it was, they kept moving it up and it wound up coming out the weekend after Thanksgiving so that the last episode was the weekend after Christmas. Jacob Tierney handed in the last episode 48 hours before it aired.  They won't start filming until August because he needed a break.

Yes, there's an edge to Jeremy's Bobby that wasn't there with Jonathan. Works wonderfully. And of course he sings it beautifully.
