I don't know whether this will help but two things occur to me. If I have the right person, the reviews say that he is 35. I suspect that the market for escorts of that age is not as big as the market for those in their 20s. Also, the picture displayed makes him look rather ordinary. "Ordinary" is not really what I want in return for the fees escorts charge these days. If the picture doesn't do him justice he should get one that does. If it is accurate then perhaps he should consider another line of work.

My friend, Jack in DC, has 3 good reviews on the site, but is feeling down about some of his experiences. He is new at this and has had about 6 appointments. In every case, the guy said he was satisfied and he thought they were satisifed also. A few wrote him a note thanking him. But while many said they wanted to meet him again, only one has followed up even though he wrote a thank you note later.

 

He wonders if the guys (who pay in full and sometimes give more than what is expected) are just handing him a line or really got what they expected. He is not looking for a relationship or affection, but would just like regular clients. He is really such a nice guy (maybe that is the issue?).

 

He knows that regular business is important and often men write in others' reviews that they have seen escorts for several months, a year, etc. While three months and a few dates is not much, he feels he probably should have had a couple of repeats.

 

Is it usual that most guys want to see a guy once and that is it or should he have had more follow up appointments with some of the same guys?

 

Also, his pics are kinda foggy and he often gets requests for info, he then sends his face pic, and gets no response. He is not model material, but I think he is nice looking. He doesn't want his face pic on his site for confidenality but will send it to those interested.

 

What advice can I give him? Is there a place he can go to get better pictures taken in the DC area? The guy really needs some cheering up so any advice you can offer is appreciated!

Let me get this straight. This Jack fellow has only had 6 appointments and already has THREE reviews? What does he do to his clients to make them write, hypnotize them? ;-)

 

In any case, how long has he been escorting? Repeat clients still don't usually hire the same guy more than once a month (though there are exceptions).

The guys I see "regularly", I see only about 4 to 6 times a year. I know there are some that hire on a weekly basis, but I think they are the exception rather than the rule, simply from a cost standpoint. 6 appts in three months seems very slow, but one out of six as a repeat seems pretty typical, of course the escorts can probably shed more light here. His reviews sound good, seems like he is doing the rights things, be patient. If he is really brave he might try raising his profile on the message boards, running the risk of being royally flamed. Also DC doesn't seem to be a hotbed of escort activity as NYC and SoCal. The well known DC guys seem to spend a considerable amount of time in NYC.

I agree with Esc-Tracker, most clients can't afford more than once a month. In fact, I often go 6 weeks between appointments depending upon what the escort charges.

 

I usually book a 2-hour session and that can be quite costly. But, my "regular" escorts know that and I make sure to let them know approximately when I'll be contacting them again.

 

The fact that your friend has received "thank you" e-mails is a good sign that the client is serious. Building up a list of "regular" clients takes time and patience. :-)

 

The only suggestion I have is that he check his rates to ensure he's not charging more than the competition. In fact, he may want to charge $25/hour LESS than his competition until he becomes established. But, I certainly wouldn't want him to charge significantly less than others. He's got to remember that his services are valuable.

I read Jack's reviews and was VERY impressed with what other's had to say about him...I'm 6'5" and 240# so his physical description definitely got my attention...but each reviewer said he was a bottom...damn, that's my role! Just how versatile is Jack, I would be very interested in knowing more...I could be a steady client!

 

I really liked what has been said about the guy, he sounds like someone you enjoy spending time with...in and out of the bed! Let me know more about him...

Another drawback may be his age. Personally, I like older guys but I think that this taste isn't shared by all. I find bodies with a bit of wear and tear much sexier. So many others look for young, perfect men. Also, if he really is versatile, a review where he tops successfully would be a big help.

I'd have to agree with Spendlove...Jack should consider another

line of work or at least not count on escorting as a full-time

job. And 3 reviews out of 6 appts.???, what's up with that?

 

I see my most regular client every 5 or 6 days. Another client

I see every Sunday and several clients I see a couple times a

month. With some of my clients, I just never know when they're

going to call, BUT most of the clients I see are regular clients.

You really can't make a living at this unless you develop a regular clientele.

 

Sounds like Jack is a nice guy, but nice will only get you so far

in this business. Honestly, you have to have more going on than

that. And yes, there will be guys that say they had a great time

and you'll never see or hear from them again. Hey, if I took it

personally every time I didn't hear from a client who said they

really enjoyed themselves, I'd have slit my wrists a long time

ago.

 

I'll be celebrating 10 years in this business next week. I've

seen alot of escorts come and go. The ones who have "it", have lasted and the ones who don't have "it", haven't.

I date guys my age, but for commercial encounter usually go for guys in late or mid twenties.. Sure there is a market for escorts in mid/late 30's, but not as big as the 20's.

The DC scene is pretty lousy for a major metropolitan area. There are really only a handful of top notch escorts - you all know who you are ;-). A good newcomer would probably be welcomed. But, given the relative wealth of the area, I am surprised that more escorts have not taken up residence. There must be something in the client base, of which I am one, that prevents this. I suspect you friend's problem may be (1) age, (2) lack of a singular "outstanding" attribute, and (3) DC itself. :-( Talvin, Andreas, Joey and a few others have DC as there home base but the first three also travel extensively. I suspect they do this for business reasons. ;-) I have encouraged several escorts that I see in other areas of the country to visit DC but none seem to want to make the trip. I would be very interested in other's opinions of the area and the reasons for this situation.

Based on your feedback, I will get new pictures taken. Since I cannot do much about my age (35) or where I live (outside DC), I know that I will have very few potential clients as a result. I will focus on providing the best experience I can for the clients I meet.

 

I am versatile and very tall (6'4"), which I thought might be 2 combined unique attributes in attracting clients. Some clients look for tall men so I thought that might be my competitive advantage I guess time will tell if those attributes are wanted in this market.

First and foremost do not be discouraged. You are a very hot and sexy man. When I first read your reviews and saw your picture, I took note of you immediately. I agree -- from what I can see, I think Jack looks very sexy! 35 years old is definitely not too old, in my book, to be escorting. And, in San Francisco, there are many, many escorts in their 30's and older. Of course, Jack's picture only shows him from chin down, and I think the photo isn't that great, either. I bet he's even hotter than this picture indicates. Faces, however, are very important to me (and I assume to many other clients as well). If I were in DC and a potential client, I would at least want some sort of face shot before proceeding.

 

As to clients not hiring an escort a second time, I wouldn't take it personally. I have enjoyed being with a number of escorts whom I hired only once. Sometimes I knew I would only be hiring them once at the time of the first date; sometimes it was only after some time elapsed that I realized that, while enjoyable, I didn't want to see that particular escort again. The three escorts I have hired on repeatedly have all been exceptional (to me), two because I enjoy the sex with them so much and the other because I am quite smitten with the guy (and enjoy being in bed with him, too).
