BSR Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Yes, both the Rio & Palms both still have free parking, as does Gold Coast (but do you really want to stay there?). By the way, I stayed in the Palms in February and the room was fantastic, much nicer than I expected.
ericwinters Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I'm waiting for the casinos to make their roads to and from the garage toll roads. 🤑 Luv2play 1

My last few visits were there instead of Rio, which was really hitting the dumps. My last visit, Palms “upgraded” me to a suite in the private condo tower which was very nice. funny that Rio has hit me with marketing pieces weekly for about a month now, offering me 4 free suite nights. I’m not chomping to return.

Pre-retirement I was there 2-3 times a year on business. Traveling from LA, and needing to get around from the casinos to World Marketplace, I opted to drive so I’d have my car for ease of transportation. I found myself staying at the “west side” hotels like Rio, Palms, etc because they had free parking. Is that no longer the case? Rio doesn't charge parking AFAIK but almost but most the strip hotels do now unless you have status or are a local I know all the Caesars and MGMs do. The westgate (old Hilton) doesn't Almost all charge resort fees as well unless you have top tier. Rio stopped charging resort fees to Hyatt globalists so they've been getting my stays lately

What compounds my frustration is that many properties, such as Vdara and Delano (now W), have dismal, disengaged employees who seem to lack basic empathy or concern for their guests. Too often, you're treated like just another number. Just my humble opinion, of course. Not just your opinion because many are expressing the same experience. Instead of being treated as a valued guest and customer, many Vegas-goers complain of going-through-the-motions customer service. Apparently the casino-hotels are dividing their guests between the duds (Middle America, looking for value) and fluffies (high-rollers, high-end business travelers, Louis Vuitton & Hermès shoppers). The “duds” get perfunctory service whereas the “fluffies” get the red carpet: smiling staff knows your name, cocktail girls snap to it, welcome gift in your suite, etc. What’s particularly annoying for us Middle Americans is not just Amex black cardholders get the royal treatment, because that’s understandable, but big-time influencers as well. It’s gotta be galling to see the same staff that doesn’t even make eye contact with you then fawning over some snot-faced 22yo influencer. So if you’re not super-rich or don’t have 1.1 million Instagram followers … pubic_assistance 1
