The second feature from the director of Barbarian (which I also kind of liked).

Like Barbarian, it set up an interesting story which carries Weapons for quite a while. Unfortunately the most interesting pieces, the parents, Justine's past, and the bullying are left behind and we introduce a supernatural force.  When will directors learn not to show the monster?

I thought Josh Brolin was terrible. I don't like that hollow phoney voice he uses.

It's also too long. The director should have cut the character of James. The actor is fine, but cutting would have saved twenty slow minutes.

Pedro Pascal was originally set to play Josh Brolin’s part. He had to drop out due to scheduling issues.

I heard good things (about the twist) in Barbarian, but never saw it.  Wasn't planning on seeing Weapons, and now I won't, thank you.

I don't want to see Barbarian, I'm kinda sick of horror movies.  But, I'm curious about the twist, it's supposed to be clever (I think it's mid-movie).  Manhattan, if you have a second could you DM me the twist in Barbarian?  Thanks!

I wasn’t blown away by the twist in Barbarian at all. If anything, the story just got sillier as it went on. The first half was easily the strongest and most interesting.
