Barbara Walters - Tell Me Everything

This doc really made me dislike her. A portrait of a selfish, manipulative, competitive person who polluted our society with the worst kind of pseudo-journalism delivered with poor speech, and then topped off the cultural devastation with a revolving crew of knuckleheads on The View.  
 

if you are even vaguely aware of Barbara Walter's, you know enough. There's nothing interesting in the documentary.

a couple I know and I watched it last week.....a light and breezy summary of her life from very beginning to nearly the end......interesting little clips here and there and full admission that she put career above family/personal life.....ambitious, she found her niche and ran with it.......was reminded that the lineup of interviews she had over the years is impressive......her presumed grand premise for "The View" inevitably devolved into whatever brought in the ratings......worth watching if you have the time and interest.......

I didn't hate it, but I thought "The Rulebreaker" by Susan Page was far superior.

Anyone remember her interviewing Richard Gere, bringing up a gay role he performed on stage?

She made it seem nearly scandalous, as if he should be concerned what will people think, and even suggested Gere played the role a little bit TOO good (wink, wink ).

His response was perfect, that he wasn't worried.  After all, "there's nothing wrong with being gay" you silly old bag.
