I'm seriously beginning to think that I chose the wrong profession.

Maybe I should had said yes, when I was 15, to that guy I met on my way home from school who wanted me to get into his car and have sex with him.

Or maybe I should have said yes to that friend of mine who wanted me to go to his place and fool around.

Too bad it took me six years from that point to acknowledge my true sexuality.

To Marc Anthony: We do not hire escorts, I have found this board to be of great value to me in understanding what his life was like as an escort. I know MUCH more about escorting from this board than I do from him. That part of his life is past and is rarely discussed.

A hint for all you escorts out there who want to insure your future after you retire. Find something you are good at and enjoy doing and use it to make your money grow. My partner liked working with his hands and was talented in fixing up old homes. How he saved the $500,000. was buying old ran down homes, remoldeling them and reselling them at large profits. Remember guys, we're talking pre internet and he worked out of Portland and Seattle in the 80's and early 90's. I doubt if he made $250,000. total in his career.

I'm fascinated by how all of the sudden an escort may drop off the face of the earth and then resurface in a year or so. It's almost like they go out into the real world only to realize it's not as easy as it seemed. I agree with one of the earlier comments that finding a sugar daddy is not truly retiring.

These are some interesting issues. Health insurance and disability insurance are available for people who are self-employed, but what occupation is an escort supposed to declare on an application? Since STDs are a greater danger for escorts, I would think that an insurer would not want to be put in the position of issuing a policy that covers such problems without knowing that the insured is in a business in which he's more likely to encounter them. Making false statements on an application that are material to the coverage applied for can be grounds for canceling the policy if the insurer finds out about them.

On the issue of income taxes, anyone is free to file a return without disclosing his occupation, so long as the income and deductions on the return are correct there's no penalty. But business expenses relating to illegal activity aren't deductible. It can't be too easy for escorts to invest their money, since if the investments are substantial they're going to be disclosed to IRS at the other end and if the escort hasn't filed a return showing income sufficient to make those investments IRS will probably be getting in touch with him to ask where the money came from.

I've got a friend who's married 4 wealthy women. (Well ok, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he cleans up well) and he has consistantly maintained that working for a living would be easier. Did I mention that he has no self esteem left.
