CrowdSec

Just lately a system named CrowdSec has blocked my access to Rentmen/Rentmasseur.

I'm curious if any/many others are experiencing the same.

Update:  I changed the location option in my VPN app, and now I'm able to access Rentmen/Rentmasseur.  Don't know if this is a permanent fix.  🤞

Another update:  Changing the location option in my VPN app worked for awhile only.  This morning I reinstalled ExpressVPN, so far so good.  🤞

VPN on: I have this problem when trying to access RM via an embedded link in a COM post (I'm NOT suggesting an issue with COM).  I guess the RM site, protected by Crowdsec, is not able to obtain some information it needs.  When accessing RM on a direct basis, I have no problem.

I have just purchased a VPN called Surf Shark and this VPN has brought CrowdSec into blocking rentmen for me too. I changed my location to a different country and CrowdSec still is blocking. It looks like the only way to see rentmen is to turn the VPH off. I did ask the Shurf Shark online chat if I can add a site to a whitelist and they do have a bypass feature, however, I did find out that CrowdSec is something separate from my VPN. 

I have read others say they can read the review texts by switching countries on their VPN, what country are you using to view the rentmen reviews?

Remember that VPN providers recycle the same IP addresses across many users. When one person engages in suspicious or unwanted behavior, that IP can get blacklisted, and everyone else on that VPN ends up paying the price. That’s likely why CrowdSec is blocking you.

If you’re still in the Surfshark trial, I’d honestly recommend dropping it and going with what I consider a much better option: ProtonVPN. If switching providers isn’t something you want to do and you only care about accessing RM reviews, you could try using Chrome with the 1vpn.org extension. They have a free tier with an European server that should work for you.
