I will be in NYC shortly and in my research to find a suitable escort, I viewed the NYC reviews section. As a photographer, I was amazed at how very few escorts have pictures posted and of those that do, how amateurish many of them are. Is it too much to expect that an escort who promotes his service, especially on his web page, show potential clients what he looks like? At prices in the vicinity of $200 (sometimes more) per hour, I want to see if an escort is “my type”. No matter how many positive reviews someone gets, if he isn’t physically my type, I don’t think I would want to hire him.

 

An exception to this is Campus escorts. Not only do they show pics of their escorts but they show several pics of all their escorts. Someone looking for a “specific look” is much more likely to find one there. Granted, some escorts value their privacy and do not want to show their faces. This is understandable. However, those who feel that way could at least have body pics. An example of this is “Justin”....he has wonderful pics of himself while still hiding his face. In marketing themselves isn’t it to their advantage to not only have pics of themselves BUT to have professional pics (rather than some lousy snapshot which does not flatter them). Again, refer to Campus Escorts and the professional quality of the new pics of “Jeremy”. This is a perfect example of how well to market yourself.

 

Am I “out of the loop” here in my opinion of escorts and pics? Does anyone care about this? Would you hire an expensive escort without seeing what he looks like? Would like opinions of people who hire escorts and of escorts who advertise themselves.

You're absolutely correct. I'm a part-time escort and I certainly wouldn't hire an escort without first seeing a photo. Most escorts on this site don't have a thumbnail photo next to their name on the State listing because there's an extra monthly fee and moonlighters like me just don't have the extra dough. But if you click on the names and go to the review you should find a link to the escort's web site. There you should find professional photos. If they're not pro shots, shame on the escort. A good photo is worth a thousand words (or a thousand reviews).

i only hire after seeing a picture. i just got back from new york where i had an overnight with jeremy. the pictures were put up while i was there and are brand new. the problem with pictures is you never know how old they are. some escorts are using pictures close to a decade old! some sites tell you how old the pictures are but mostly they give me just a general idea of what the guy is like. i put more stock in reviews than just the picture as attitude, intelligence, etc. are more important to me than looks.

 

while off subject, jeremy is not to be missed if you like a great kisser, escort with wonderful oral talents and affection. he is totally versitle, stays hard for the longest time and shoots nice loads. his "look" may not be for everyone, especially if you like gym boys but jeremy more than makes up for it in other ways. he is intelligent and one of the sweetest men i have ever met. i did a review but it takes a while to get posted. i'll definately see him the next time i am back in nyc.

Althought its true that pictures speak a thousand words, I don't think that its necessary for an escort to have professional pictures taken. (Especially, if the escort decides against a face shot.) A picture which gives you some idea of the what the escort looks like is good enough for me. Whenever I decide to hire someone, I do as much research as possible. I check his reviews. I search the message board to see if there are any posts about or by him. I check out his ad and then his pictures. If I like what I see, then I send an e-mail and take it from there.

I'm sorry, as a fabulous New York City boy, I am offended. I think my site is pretty damn good, now maybe my pictures are amateurish (I take them myself w/ digital cam) but I'd say I've done a very nice job of marketing myself and my site.

 

I agree, though - this IS New York City and I think when you look at our sites and pix one should be able to instantly see, OH YEAH, this ain't Kansas.

 

We are a style and culture capital and this city's escorts should represent that.

I have to agree that professional quality photographs are far more appealing on any personal web site than amateur or digicam shots. I am a photographer in Houston and have worked with a number of individuals on photos for a web site with great results. Most of my clients are models, however I have done the photos and created the sites for a few escorts and masseurs. All have reported that the quality of the images helped their business. It isn't that expensive to do a pro shoot. Sometimes an exchange of services can be arranged as well.
