Not a doctor here, but I've heard it can be stopped and even reversed if a person who is overweight loses weight, and for those who are not overweight, to make sure they keep a balanced diet, get regular exercise, and avoid alcohol as much as possible.  Also, it's good to check with a nutritionist or doctor to see if any medications or supplements being taken can negatively affect the liver.  Many are metabolized by the liver, while others are metabolized by the kidneys.

Yes, there are some new investigational drugs.  You may have read about them.  PM me if you like.  Good luck!

Has anyone successfully reversed fatty liver (non alcoholic) and if so what did you do? I'm not overweight so losing weight is not really an option.

Yes, I have. I did lose some weight, but it was mostly done by changing my eating habits and drinking habits. My doctor monitored me regularly and I was referred to a very good dietician that knew my doctor, my nephrologist and endocrinologist! Plus, I did some research online. I'm not sure if I was given any meds for it, but I have taken several supplements for other issues and my results have been very satisfactory all around with many of my health issues. If I remember correctly, in about a year later my doctor had me get an ultrasound or maybe an MRI and told me the results were now normal.

That's good to hear - thank you
