Is this possible - Posting permissions at thread level

After seeing certain threads get locked and sometimes removed due to interpersonal sniping between forum members, I'm wondering if this forum software can support posting permissions on the thread level.  Instead of locking a thread for everyone that had otherwise interesting conversation, individual posters who were who are derailing the conversation could be blocked from making further posts on the thread.  It should probably be a moderation action to set the block.

There is not a "ban from topic" feature.  The only way to do this would be to turn on post approval for a specific topic which would mean any replies in that topic would need to be approved by a moderator by anyone.
