Any watch connoisseurs? I need recommendations on what to buy as a gif

I’m considering buying a gift for a friend. He likes watches, but he doesn’t have a good quality one. See pic attached. These are the ones he has. I’d like to know if anyone could recommend a watch that you think he might like around $700. Thanks.

In that price range, I would go with Tissot. High quality Swiss movements, water resistant, sapphire crystal, good designs, and a sexy open case back on some to show the movement.  I’ve seen it on a few people at work and they looks sharp.

Yeah. They look similar. But the price difference is huge!. Wow!  700ish vs 17Kish 😲

But each is Swiss quality. Something for everyone.
