I'm writing this message since I'm really fed up with the ripping off of customers that dancers like Travis do in the Gaiety. I know that some people like to make a distinction between Gaiety dancers and "regular" escorts, maintaining (and accepting) that the former are less accommodating, albeit charging the same or more. Well, I don't buy it.. First, I've had some of the best sex in my life with some Gaiety dancers (notably Pierre, what a hunk!) Second, when a dancer like Travis approaches you in the Gaiety, being sweet and flirtatious as can be, your expectations must run HIGH. So, when you do succumb to his unwavering interest in you (your money, more like it!) only to find out later on that you've got what amounts to NOTHING in terms of sexual fulfillment, I call this an unabashed scam. I know it's probably my fault that I hadn't agreed with him on the details before the private, but I just couldn't bring myself to tackle the subject with a guy as sweet as Travis.. I thought that'd embarrass him!! God was I naive... Anyway, I just wanted to share this experience (to let off some steam!) and ask if anyone else had a similar disappointment with Travis (or other Gaiety dancers).

Did you voice your disappointment with him or did you just give him his money and chaulk it off to a bad experience? Unfortunately, I've had similar bad experiences with Gaiety dancers (never been with Travis) and just decided to say nothing and let them go. Now, whenever I go to the Gaiety, I just do not hire any of them (no matter what NY Observer has to say about them and just "how wonderful" they are). The majority of Gaiety dancers are out to rip you off by getting as much money out of you as possible, in as short a period of time as possible while providing as little service as possible. I just don't understand why guys who know this still hire them, then complain. When you've been burned as many times as I have, you don't do it anymore. For what the Gaiety dancers charge (the uniform rate....I swear they have a union.....is $200) you can hire an escort who will provide you with what you want. Oh yes, they are beautiful to look at but they are out to make a quick buck......I know this first hand from someone who "arranges" for the canadien dancers to appear at the Gaiety (he fills them in on how much money they can make and how to make it as quickly as possible).

Believe me, if the new visitors to the Gaiety were made aware of the "policy" of these dancers, they wouldn't be so quick to dish $200 only to feel that they were ripped off. As for those who are continuously being victimized by these sleezes, someday, like me, they will realize that it doesn't change and they will stay away from them. I could tell you stories about the jerks I went with and then, felt that I had just been fleeced and frankly, was very depressed about the whole experience. It really feels like you've been robbed because you are just stupid.

Gaiety Shopping Tips

Although I do not get to New York as often as I once did, I have had some good experieinces with Gaiety dancers, but you have to be a smart shopper.

Ken makes it sound like he is revealing one of the Secrets of Fatima when he says that the dancers' objective is to make as much money as possible in as little time as possible. Duh! That's why they are there. Take that as your starting point, and move on from there.

Some dancers are offering only "private shows" as opposed to sex or a full escort experience. Other dancers offer both. Some dancers that offer "full service" will get away with only a "private show" for the same money if they can. Make sure that you know what the dancer is offering. Don't let them get away with "we will have fun" statements without being more specific.

Other tips for maximizing your investment:

Know when his next show on stage is. Make sure that there is a full hour for your session. Make the dancer commit to that. Some dancers will book clients every half hour if they can.

Try to determine if they are gay or straight. That isn't a pure indication of how they will be, but often the gay guys give more, and are more relaxed and fun in the situation.

Book the time between the last afternoon show and the first night show. There is an extra hour or hour and a half there, so you can arrange for a longer session.

Book after the last show of the night, and on weekends after the last finale. That last finale at 3 AM is a pain in the ass for all involved. Denise needs to drop it. I have had dancers skip it to stay with me.

If you are staying in a hotel, book the dancer for the following morning or noon time. This way they are fresh, showered, and often just back from the gym. If the escort cumming is an important thing to you, a morning session or the last session of the night is the best bet. I have had some great morning sessions.

Read the reviews.

If you are in the green room at the Gaiety for a while, watch how the dancers interact with clients. Are they hustling? Are they relaxed and freindly? Do they leave with clients and then return in 15 minutes?

I have certainly had some sessions with Gaiety dancers that have been disapopointing, but only one that I felt was really bad and where I felt I was totally ripped off (The quite gorgeous Dayton. He demenaded $300 up front and did absolutely NOTHING in return for it - stay away from him - he looks great but is a total ripoff).

So be a wise shopper, or as Ken suggested, go elesewhere for an escort.

RE: Gaiety Shopping Tips

I had an encounter with a Travis from Toronto dancing at the Gaiety, and although it was a rushed 20 minutes, I certainly enjoyed it. It was $150, but I got to do what I wanted to do.

I admire your generosity! It's true that different customers have different perceptions of what a "satisfactory" private should be like, but I sure won't be happy forking out $150 for a "rushed" 20 minutes session, even if the escort were Brad Pitt!!

Yes a lot of these dancers from Canada are becoming a real nuissance because they're coming down to New York in a pack to see who can rip off the most gay guys first. However there are various other dynamics to how the scenario will play out with the dancer. I've recently found that bringing a cute gay escort that I've gone with one-on-one along with me and one of the dancers can be quite revealing. I have seen a lot of interaction and sexual play going on that wasn't just about money. Don't let a lot of these dancers fool you. They really do want to be with guys, but escorting is a way for them to rationalize it and still identify as heterosexual. Just don't tell that wench Dr. Laura!

LAST EDITED ON Jun-17-00 AT 02:22PM (EST)[p]Lucky, prehaps you can elaborate on what you did with Travis that was worth $150 for 20 min... It would help to know what you get off on (for some cuddling is more than enough, for others a "full service" is a must..) so that others can decide whether or not they relate with your experience with Travis.

I talked to Travis several times at Remington's. He seemed a nice guy to me. Originally, I told him that I was broke and did not have money for table dance. Nonetheless, he was still very nice to me and talked to me. He was not pushy at all. The other times he talked to me, he was very polite and friendly. He would just ask me if I was interested in table dance. And when I said no, he did not become hostile or rude. He was still quite friendly to me. He seemed to me as just another regular guy.

Anyway just in case I do have enough money for a private, I will make sure that Travis and I have agreed on both the price and the service required.

Well, Lucky, I thought the main point of this forum was to "kiss and tell"! Anyway, good for you...

Gaiety dancers

I have found it a better "deal" to see the Gaiety dancers on their own turf in Canada. The price they charge, except for Pierre, is generally $150.00 to $200.00 CDN--a considerable savings with the exchange rate. (Pierre charges the same in Canada--$200 US). I have also found that the dancers are often more available as requests for privates are fewer. I tired of the Gaiety hustle several years ago, though I had more good experiences than bad. I also like the prices of hotels in Toronto and Montreal--this leaves me with a lot more cash for the dancers!
