Providers, where did you get your professional photos?

I have this guy reaching out on RM for a photoshoot. He attached his Instagram account which seems legit to me. It looks like he wants to take nudes of me but I don't know how I feel about it. He says the session takes an hour. Supposedly this is how a lot of escorts get their professional pictures. Thoughts?

Ask yourself these questions...  Is he willing to pay you a models fee that's worth your while?
If you're not going to be compensated will you have equal rights to the photos that you can use as you choose? Will this photographer give you a massive increase in your exposure ( published  or "social media famous"  ) Can your ad benefit from high quality photography? Last but not least, is the photographer super talented? If not, be cautious... once it's out there, it's out there forever, image control matters.

* often times models and "providers"  pay really good photographers to help bolster their portfolios and provide excellent photos that drive "provider" ads. Sometimes it all depends on who wants to work with who more lol 😂 🐈‍⬛ 🐭 Best case scenario is that a photographer pays you for the shoot for his or her project and since you were paid and signed a models release the photographer owns the rights to the images but gives you a small handful of images that you could use for let's say, your ad 😉 I've always managed that with almost everyone studio I've worked with.

Give it a try... worst case scenario you can use the pics he took of you in your ad.

I prefer to pay a local photographer for their work. That way, I have full control over the shoot, the clothing (or lack), location, props, poses, scenarios, etc. When I hire, I have either partial or full rights to use the images for commercial purposes or for “social media” and I pay extra to get full resolution size on a few of them.

The photographer usually includes time behind the scenes within their base fee for minor touchups, cropping, color correction, and so on. That service has tremendous value.

Also, I choose whether or not to allow the photographer to publish the images for any other purpose. That’s a big deal, at least I think so.

When you pay for something, you have much more control over it. When you barter or do it for free in hopes of using the images…most, maybe all of that control goes out the window. That’s fine if saving money is more important at the time and if you don’t really care that much about the specifics of the resulting images or the scope of your rights to use them. You can get some good images for cheap or free that way, but beggars can’t be choosers.

A decent photo shoot will set you back at least 3-5 hundred dollars, and hundreds more depending on how many images you want to use, what rights you retain, the resolution, and if you want any prints. My budget for a photoshoot and all the related fees is $1000. That figure will likely be higher in larger US metro areas like LA, NYC, SF, Chicago and others. A less experienced photographer will probably cost less, but you should view and be happy with their sample work before committing.
