I could not agree more! I love to lay a foundation of understanding with email first (to make sure we're on the same page and have the same needs/interests).

 

If we're a match, I am happy to pursue our connection via phone or email, but at least we know basically what we're both looking for.

I perfer being contacted by email rather then phone. I work early mornings (530am) at the day job and don't like it when my phone rings after 730 or 8pm since I am usually trying to wind down from the day and relax or I am out having dinner and getting my last cup of liquid Seattle crack hence I am out in public and can't talk that much. Plus I can easily and DISCRETLY check my emails via my phone if I feel I need to when I am out.

I agree with all those who have said they prefer to be contacted through email. That is always best for me.

 

I don't answer my phone unless I recognize the number. All other calls go directly to voice mail. My # is on too many websites, forums, etc. for me to answer every call. I can't tell you the number of voicemails I have gotten either that were very hard to understand for whatever reason and often times the person's phone number is what I can't understand. So without that, there is no way for me to return their call.

 

With email it's all laid out in black and white for you and barring any horrendous typos, pretty easy to understand and respond to.

I prefer phone. Not only is it more personal and direct, but it yields a higher percentage of actual appointments. I've had guys e-mail me for weeks and months, set up an appointment, and never follow through on that one call that I request to confirm.
