Nice Caribbean Resort

Hi. Can anyone recommend a nice beach resort in the Caribbean? Gay friendly, safe, etc? Maybe the Dominican Republic?

The DR is not known for being gay friendly.  I've spent enough time in Punta Cana and Santo Domingo to know that.

However, the new Hyatt Ziva in Punta Cana is beautiful.  If you just want to live in the hotel bubble, you'd be fine there.

I'd more so recommend Playa Holbox, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Mahahual, Puerto Morelos, Lake Bacalar, El Cuyo, or Sayulita...  All located in Mexico.

I’d give a hard “no” on the Dominican Republic.

Unless you’re into locking yourself into the resort….
and that’s not very “gay” at all in my book. 

The only places I’ve felt relatively safe in the Caribbean 
are on the French islands (e.g. St. Barts, St. Martin etc.).
Even then, they’re not really “gay friendly”, so much as
“just don’t do it in the streets and scare the horses”.
