I value the honest posts and feedback on here, and I’ve benefitted greatly from y’all’s guidance on masseurs. It’s about time I paid it forward. Unfortunately, I find myself in the camp of those blown off by Shane. I was in LA for a day a couple of weeks back. I decided to take the leap and book with Shane because of the positive feedback from those guys who had met him. I reached out a week in advance to schedule him, and we had a great chat exchange leading up to the day of the massage. I flew into LA that morning and headed to the OC for some business meetings. I reconfirmed with him, and we were set to meet after my meetings. I finished my meetings early and texted Shane that I could meet 30 minutes earlier if he was available. That’s when it all unraveled. He responded via text about 20 minutes before our appointment and said he was with another client and he would text me when finished. About 5 minutes before our appointment, he sent me a text, explaining that a client got aggressive with him, and he had to call the cops. He then asked to postpone our appointment. I told him I could postpone for about 30 minutes. Beyond that, I would have to cut my losses and head back to LAX airport. To my surprise, he called me a few minutes later to apologize and ask if I could reschedule. He offered to comp the massage if I would reschedule. I reiterated to him that I was only in town for that day, and that I could wait 30 minutes for him to settle things. I asked him to keep me updated, and he agreed. That was the last I ever heard from Shane. I sent him a couple texts later that evening but no response. My texts show “delivered” but not “read.” I was completely bummed to miss him, but in the back of my mind I wasn’t too surprised. In all fairness, I had read the forums here, and I had been warned. However, this is now the second bad experience I’ve had in CA (SD & LA) in the last four months. I’m beginning to think I’m cursed on the west coast. LOL I’m really sorry to hear that. Next time you’re in LA or SD, send me a PM. I have great recs of guys that won’t ghost you. GuyfromATL 1

GovernorD Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Stay away from Shane. He is a flake. I also know that he charges different rates for different people because I know some guys who booked with him before. I was one of those guys who was referred to him. He charges different rates to so many different people that he can’t keep up and remember everything. He is very awkward when it comes to the erotic side of his service. No chemistry. No personality. Feels like I’m feeling up a bot. His lack of consistency in communication is very irritating when you plan your schedule for a massage with him. Keeps changing and eventually ghosting. You can book him if you want but the chances of him not responding is very high. Yes, he is a nice guy when you see him in person, but that’s about him. Once I saw him for what he is I don’t think he’s that good looking either. I also suspect that he may be racist. If you want to know why, then PM me for details. FredyRay 1

Although I can’t say that ALL Ca guys are flaky, there’s something about southern Californian providers where they lack any level of commitment or professionalism. They flake, ghost, don’t respond, no show, late, and sloppy with their service. I experience the complete opposite when I’m in WA, AZ and CO. Providers there are amazing. I have all the best times in those areas. Maybe each state have different culture and standards for work ethic???🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Westsideguy Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I’ve seen Shane many times. Always a great massage, and the ending gets better and better each time. I hate to see the negative comments. My experiences have all been great. Nice guy. EquisDe 1

I’ve seen him 3x and he’s always been friendly and responsive with me, though I haven’t seen him in a year. I’m Asian and there’s never been any hint that he’s racist. Michael PhD and EquisDe 2

I travel 2 weeks a month all over and have sampled the best (based on feedback on here) across the country and have never felt SoCal to be an outlier with quality or communication from masseurs. Happy to share my go to guys list in SoCal.

This is similar to my experience and outlook - except that I do think he’s gorgeous, and I did have sessions with real chemistry. I’ve always said that Shane in person was really nice, Shane leading up to the session was hit or miss (with tone). I am not someone who has ever hailed a racist card (only once or twice in my life have I suspected that that might really be going on), but I questioned with Shane if that was part of it, but can’t assert it. I’m just confused because the ghosting started after having several what I thought were great sessions, and not a single negative conversation or experience. I had started seeing him when he was relatively new on rentmasseur, and I witnessed first hand the difference in rates from session to session, and he would forget what he charged me for the same thing and get a little flustered (I always just gave what he asked and he was happy). When I referred some people to him from here (he didn’t know I referred them) he charged them completely different rates both from one another and to me. I kept going because when I went, I found him really nice and less awkward with the sensual part over time. When the flaking became regular, especially the day of a visit (and the lying became clear) I was discouraged, culminating in what I described in other posts. rdmrdm Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I really enjoyed my sessions with Shane but the comments about flakiness totally check out In one massage he shared some strong anti-MAGA, anti-xenophobia sentiments. So I don’t think he’s a big racist. But I can’t really speak about why other people get a different vibe from him.
EquisDe Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Yeah, I don’t know, Shane has been pretty good to me during my sessions. I haven’t had anything bad pop up before or during.
