With so many different escort listing sites out there...what/which ones do the escorts on this site prefer?

I just filled out an ad for rentboys.com but had technical issues w/ uploading my pic...and can't find a link to log in and change my settings. add new pics, etc.

So fellas, which escort listing sites have you found easy, practical and user-friendly?

Thanks all.

You can call me Homosexu-Al. =)

Just a Minor Marketing point, why not put your e-mail address in the profile you created here. That would be a start for a Novice. You cant get clients if they have to go to a physic to contact you.

As a client, the most helpful site at this time--other than Male4Male--is Rentboy.com. Primarily because it is the most up to date. Most of the other sites have guys who signed up several years ago and are not really available.

As an escort . . .

and based on some of the previous comment here on this site, clients seem to like American Male.Net; unfortunately, this site has gone through some problems but nearly all the listings on it are current as of the last three months and the photos load in the order the escort was listed on the site. Thus, clients, if your escort is in the back, he was listed on this site at a time frame well prior to the escort listed on the first page. Simply write to us and find out if we are available.

Another site in the U.S. which has become very popular is http://www.men4rentnow.com - this particular site loads based on "log ins" by the escort as well and the site is presently less than one year old, so ALL of the listing are current. From a client perspective, if you do a simple search by georgraphic region, again the escorts which load first are those who are "logging on" frequently and recently and thus these should be good candidates for current availability.

Both of htese sites also have the advantage of being totally free to list to the escort and of providing sufficient content, especially Men 4 Rent Now, to the client, also free, to make an informed selection.

However, there are certainly very good escorts who cannot be bothered with spending time on either a daily or regular basis on or in front of a computer. This does not make them anything other than perhaps bad at marketing themselves. I can think of a few well reviewed escorts who dislike dealing with their computer related work based "requirements."

If I were a client, I would take the few minutes to write to someone I was interested in and see if I get a response.

It's nice being able to log in and change your listing whenever you want, and you can't beat the price, but one annoying thing about this site is how it tries to control the first contact between clients and escorts. It doesn't let you link to your website, so the info clients can easily access is limited to the blurb and the few pictures they let you post, and the client doesn't have an opportunity to ask any questions in his initial emailed inquiry, unlike in Rentboy. All the escort gets is that "Men4RentNow response" form email (which about 50% of the time in my case, gets delivered to my Bulk Mail folder). I think the reason they don't want to link to escorts' websites is that we frequently link to our reviews on you-know-Hoo's site, and they don't want any competition with their "review" system.

Again, it's free and there are worse sites out there, but if they were really interested in making themselves useful they wouldn't try to restrict the information clients who are just browsing have available to them.

Give Nazir at Rentboy a call and tell him about the problems you're having. I've always found him helpful and responsive. If you're in a market where Rentboy is at all widely used it's well worth sticking it out until you can get your pics up there.

Also, I'd recommend getting a website of your own up and running ASAP. If you have decent communication skills at all, the very best advertising is your own. There's no need to wait until you can afford to hire a web designer, etc. There are web-hosting sites that have idiot-proof software. I don't know a thing about HTML and my site is extremely simple, but I can make changes whenever I want and clients tell me time and time again that what clinched their decision to hire me was what they read/saw on MY site, not somebody else's. Use advertising websites as a way to point clients to your site, and then use your site to tailor your message.

I've asked my regular escort buddy this question before...

He started with AmericanMale.net (which is where I found him), but the site seems to be fucked up a lot now. But he did get a lot of contacts from that site, especially when they had the new listings posted regularly.

He thought Rentboy.com to be a waste of money, and it has no interface options to change out his pics, or copy for his ad, which he doesn't like at all.

Guys4Rent is a good place to post, but requires passwords to see the naughty stuff.

Apparently no one in the US uses Erados.com.

The majority of his contacts have come from (and continue to come from) the Men4RentNow.com site, which seems to be fairly easy to navigate and update, and the eye-candy is FREE.

The rest of course, come from the esteemed Hoo-God's site.

Be a good boy, and get posted here. It all takes off from that.

My 2 ¢ worth...

Take a look at Rentboy and the number of listings in your area from the geographical selection pop-up list. If your area is heavily listed then it is worth considering, else move on. rentboy is a must for NY and LA IMO.

Men4rentnow is the hot property now, IMO. Has broader geogrpahical coverage. The place where the action is currently -- new faces all the time. Has capacity for mutiple pics (tho quality could be better) and they are uncensored too. (Site pay areas rub me the wrong way.) My first choice, unless NYC or LA, then second choice.

I agree with Devon about the piss-poor initial contact procedure -- IT SUCKS!!! Clients get a response ususally from an email ID that differs from the website ID. If you have mailed out two or more you don't know who is responding so it takes an additional email to find that out. :( However, they do provide for phone numbers for direct contact. I also agree that not permitting a website link sucks. As for the 'reviews' they fail to rise to the level of a joke because they are also devoid of humor. A number of other pet peeves but still my #1 generally.

Guys4rent -- again seems geographically challenged too. Seems stronger for Atlanta/South. Limited to one face pic for free and others behind a pay screen. Though the web page contains a lot of text, only a little of it is really useful -- the rest is 'boiler plate'. My second choice for the south.

Executivemaleescorts -- has this site been updated since the turn of the century???

Americanmale.net -- Comatose... in need of intensive care and not getting it. Doctor seems to be a quack. Not even on my radar screen. Used to be my first choice with escorts4you (RIP) right behind. Now inconsistent, outdated listings, and locations full of geoprahically irrelevant listings -- a waste of my time.

Meetlocalmen -- the dregs! Another archive for escorts before the turn of the century and many who never listed but were 'appropriated' from other sources.

FWIW, other's mileage may vary.

I guess with me this isn't a problem because I do a LOT of internet research for a personal project I am working on and it never occurs to me to just use one or even two websites for a source.

If I couldn't find a way to contact an escort at one website, I would just other sites for his listings until I found direct contact information.

For example, I found an escort whose listing interested me, so I did a search of about 10-15 other escort sites (I had lists I worked through from hookonline.com and other places) and found about 8 different ads for the same guy. The name changed once (but the photo and description clearly showed it was the same man), and in one review I found I think a client used the escort's real name. (NOT here at HooBoy's.) I found his own website too, which wasn't listed at any of the sites I visited.

It was interesting to note in some listings he was a year older than in others, and in the age-wise younger ones he was semi-hairy and versatile, while in the year later ones he was smooth and a versatile top.

I ended up with about 15-20 pages of information on him, most of it similar, but not always the same (and as mentioned above, the changes were interesting) and a lot of different photos of him.

I just LIKE doing research.

I don't plan to mention this to this escort as the changes seemed due to the passing of time, though if I do become a regular with him and we know each other some, I might ask him about the name change, only because if it turns out a client did post his real (first) name in a review, I want to be sure he knows this.
