I'll be in Oakland Ca next week & would like to see someone in my hotel. I'm more comfortable on *my* territory & I don't plan to rent a car.

Are there any escorts in Oakland - or nearby Berkeley? How can I find them?

Or what can I do to convince some of the SF talent to cross over? I've heard that most SF escorts won't come over to Oakland.

Any advice/ideas will be much appreciated!

Thanks.

How close is your hotel to BART? If its close I wouldn't think it would be much of an issue, although you might have a travel surcharge. If its not and it involves a drive I think you've got a more difficult task in front of you. Bay Bridge traffic is never fun except in the wee hours, and although I've not lived in the area for many years, Oakland always had a less than stellar reputation downtown.

If you want an escort who's based in the East Bay, look for escorts with 510 or 925 area codes in their phone numbers.

If you hire from San Francisco, you'll probably get more guys willing to make the trip if the appointment is two hours or longer (if it's an overnight, of course, it should be a no-brainer). Also, offer to pay my...er, I mean whoever you hire's (:7) cab fare each way from the nearest BART station if they're not driving (and a lot of us in SF don't have cars). If your appointment is not an overnight, of course, you'll need to schedule things so that your escort can get back to the BART station in time for the last train (usually around midnight).

Coming out announcement:

<ahem>

Um..

Hello. My name is Tom BuStone.. and... I actually live in.. Oakland.

(whew) there.. I actually said it..

Hello Seeker.

Noticed your post.

I live in Oakland, Lake Merritt area.

I also happen to have a car and have no issues with travel throughout the bay area. I have lived in the bay area since 1997 and know the entire bay area and its surrounding counties quite well.

For the record it typically only takes me 20 minutes from my door to San Francisco. (Faster than most guys already in SF can get anywhere due to the fact that most don't have cars and the public transit system in SF is pretty lame.)

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) stops at midnight as Devon noted.

The east bay (Oakland in particular) does in fact suffer from a perception that it is 'so far away' and is looked down upon as 'lower class' by many San Franciscans. As such my number is listed as a 415 and not a 510 area code. The situation is similar to the Manhattan vs Brooklyn Phenomenon. That's really too bad, because many of Oakland's neighborhoods are quite nice, the weather is better, the cost of housing is lower (read: no roomates required) and Oakland has better transportation and parking infrastructure. Also Oakland intl airport is convenient, runs on schedule, and is actually closer to SF than SFO intl. (SFO is in Burlingame CA. Also, SFO must shut down 1 of its 2 runways every time there is fog - that's what causes all those delayed arrivals and departures.)

If I seem a little pro-Oakland, it might have something to do with the $2,000+ in parking tickets and tow-charges I paid when I lived in SF proper from 2000-2001.

I moved from SF to Oakland in 2001 and it's been pretty cool.

None of my SF clients seem to have noticed. <smile>

FYI: I do now accept incalls from select clients at my apartment.

I have no roomates and there is plenty of parking.

Oh yeah.. did I mention the Oakland Raiders?

None of the people who responded to this thread responded to my first posting.

I know that I myself don't check the message center every day, and I don't always read all the way back to my last visit. I'm sure that are others who sometimes miss threads or are more selective at times. So, I think subsequent postings sometimes reach different audiences.

Thanks to everyone who did respond - eithertime - though.
