Insurance for WHAT? In case you don't like him, you send him home and the insurance pays you?....or you are an asshole and the insurance pays him?

Seriously, escorts are considered "self employed" and consequently are responsible for all their "business expenses" like health insurance, FICA taxes, makeup, gym, escort lessons, condoms, lube, etc.

Now I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about but....the question asked is not exactly clear.;-)

I always get insurance on the escorts ticket. If anything happens I get the money, not him.;) I will never fly a escort to me or be with me that I don't know. The only time the escort got some of the money was when he REALLY got sick and had to go home early and we all know airlines love to charge if you change anything on your ticket but he did not really get it, the airlines got it. The insurance also paid for the hospital visit before he went home. I gave him money for his return trip home so he could take a cab home.:+

I had never thought about getting travel insurance. But, would the insurance cover a "no show" if the escort just didn't use the ticket? Under what circumstances can you get reimbursed for tickets -- just illness or any other reason?

Trip insurance only pays off under certain specified and verifiable conditions, such as a verifiable illness where a doctor's written documentation of being "too ill to travel" is produced. There are a few other reasons including certain things beyond the purchaser's control, but it will never cover the whim of the traveler--if you or an escort changes plans, that is not covered.

I have never found it worth buying, due to all of the conditions and hoops you have to jump through--and for legitimate illness, a doctor's letter will get you a refund of a "non-refundable" ticket anyway, so where is the advantage?

This is an interesting angle too. What I had in mind was insurance for plane crashes etc, but responses to both aspects are still interesting to me.

Hmmm--so you were asking if the escort wants life insurance for the plane trip, should you pay for it? Or is there something else that i haven't gotten here?

Yes, that's the question. It has not arisen, but I do wonder sometimes what would happen in the event of death or injury in a plane crash. Could the escort a family member looking for deep pockets to sue, see my name on the ticket and try to recover from me or my insurance company.

Or let's say he slipped on the ice in front of the house, or tripped going down the stairs etc. I asume that the escort as an independant entrepeneur is responsible for his own insurance, but there are some strange cases out there (e.g. firms getting sued because their employee had an acident while driving off duty either talking on a cell phone or after drinking alcohol.)

I don't see how any Court is going to find you liable because the escort in question was flying to see you when the plane crashed....unless you had something to do with the plane crashing.

As to an escort (or anyone else) slipping on ice on your sidewalk, I assume your homeowner's insurance has a rider to cover accidental injuries to others while on your property. If the escort slips on the ice somewhere else, I don't see how you could be held liable/responsible.
